Hi, Just wanted to say that I made my custom SSL automation system available commercially. It's a module based 96 channel back bone with an integrated sync. The main chassis has 12 slots for for channel expansions. Each slot handles 8 channel i/o. The chassis talks USB and doesn't need a driver. At the moment we have a card that read and write CV. Targeted for SSL 4/6/8K. This card talks to our own motor faders as well. Our motor faders are plug and play in the SSL consoles. But can be used for other analog consoles as well. We also have a software that runs on whatever low spec computer. We bundle a computer with the system. I'm been mixing on traditional systems since the early 90's. FF, Uptown, GML, SSL G + J + K, Optifile as well as Pro Tools. Our system collects the best from the old school and combines it with the new. Highlights: * Reliable stand alone slave automation for up to 96 tracks. Built in sync, no SMPTE converter needed. * Extensive GUI with rubber band timeline and mute blocks * HUI link for interaction with DAW This is planned for 2015: * SSL Total Recall support * Alternative slot card that only talks to 8 motor faders (hence, the system is compatible with whatever console) * More control cards for classic gear like EMT plates, Lexicon reverbs and more That's all folks. The line is open... Best, Pelle Gunnerfeldt emailAUTOMANEFFORTS.COM

Do the motorized faders have lower latency than the originals? I could never do a live vocal ride with them.

It had one or two frame round trip latency I suppose? Maybe it's the interpolation filter you hear also: I don't know. Well. With my system, when riding with the VCA fader, it has near to direct control of the VCA. With the motor faders, it's lika a control surface to the faders. I'm sure it has a few ms latency, due to the filter, and but all communication is high speed. I'm gonna do some logging with my scope and find out exact.

You might compare it to a regular audio fader.
