Don't know if any one cares or saw PAR today. Jensen ' s largest buyer Radial bought them. Seemed interesting... so thought I would let people know.

Lets hope so. I don't think Radial will stop selling Jensen transformers to 3rd parties, but it's a possibility.

I wonder if they know about Deane's mike preamp. I got to use the prototype for a few months and it was the best I can remember. It would be interesting to compare it to Grant Carpenter's Gordon which has a similar reputation with people whose ears I trust. Deane passed away before he was able to set up manufacturing and my guess is the rest of the Jensen folks didn't want to go into competition with their customers. That prototype got stolen. :-(

That would be a huge bummer if Jensen transformers become a Radial exclusive product, but also probably a PR nightmare in the inner circles of the pro audio world. I imagine they'll still sell the transformers. Who knows if they'll jack up the prices or lower them, though.

I know who has talked to Radial , Jensen or both has been told that they have every intention of continuing to supply OEM and DIY customers. In fact I have been told, the in flux of cash and expanded production capacity may mean some new products.

I don't know what to say other than a friend of mine was building prototypes for Deane and wanted me to test them at our studio. Deane passed away and that was the end of it. They used some kind of dedicated transformers that were larger than what I'd seen before. The headroom was amazing clipping up around +50.

I love me some Radial and Jensen. Haha. Seems like a decent pairing of industries.
