Love the triad orbit stuff, but it honestly hasn’t held up well. I’ve got two twist tighteners that don’t work, a dual boom arm that won’t hold weight. A bit annoying.
Are there any good alternatives that might be a little cheaper?

Better? Probably not, short of Latch Lake and big $$$. K&M is still the standard because of consistency.

Just go Latch Lake and be done with it.

Interesting….im literally in the middle of piecing together a new “system” for mic stands. I was about to pull the trigger on some triad orbit boom arms. But I still may go latch lake.
One thing you may consider is just getting the latch lake rb1100 boom arm and attaching it to a decent stand. I have an old atlas stand that is awesome that I might use in this fashion. It definitely saves hundreds of dollars.
Can you explain a little better what’s wrong with your triad orbits? I use them all the time at Jack Pot and they all seem to have held up fine…not a single broken stand or boom in that place.

I recently got a pair of Tama Ironworks stands and they seem pretty great so far. They weigh a ton and seem super sturdy. I generally like the K&M stuff, but the hinge on these looks really beefy in comparison.

Maybe a dozen!
