What do you find that does the trackspacer thing as good or better? Asking to see if I already have a plugin that does it. fabfilter? Soothe?
Every year around this time I get so enticed by all the software “deals”, but often find that I don’t use half the stuff I buy, or find it redundant. Trying to prevent that.

TBProAudio's DSEQ3 Insanely powerful, well supported, reasonable price. Really, i feel nothing else out there for dynamic EQ is nearly as powerful and flexible. Those who learn it love it. But it can be intimidating because it is not a one-knob AI jobber doohickey. www.tbproaudio.de/products/dseq

There are other programs that I recently turned into side-chain duckers/unmasking because I was looking for something that I could apply to the return of any reverb. (Nova GE, Soothe 2) Both have their strong points but for fast, one knob unmasking duties I don't know if there's anything better than Trackspacer.

Sound Radix Pi is worth trying
Sidechain a good dynamic eq is the smart thing but more controllable: Nova GE, Oxford Dynamic, Weiss EQ1 (enable high latency mode for lookahead) all have criminally low distortion.

Texhivation’s M-Blender can do the spectral ducking thing. You can’t really hear it working, but it clears up space nicely.

Trackspacer is $29, but it's also at least 10 years old. I've never used it but following this thread. May have to try it.

I usually use a dynamic EQ or soothe. Most of my soothe use is to get some spectral sidechaining going.

The best alternative for a side chain compressor is a good arrangement
