just saw that too. Pretty good prices, but will they sound as good as a Stam or Audioscape, or even the BLA Bluey is always the question. Looking forward to someone trying that out...

Had the KT76, WA76, now I have the BLA Bluey. The KT is very clean and uncolored sounding but I actually preferred it to the WA76 saturation but it’s a matter of taste. The BLA Bluey is on a whole other level and the way is saturates is very very nice, it’s not really a comparison, even just by the weight of the units alone you can tell there’s so much more put into the Bluey. All that said i’m not sure i’m too fond of the 1176 as I used to be, I see it much more as a mix tool, no longer for tracking, I find it pretty heavy handed, but when you need that sound there’s no other like it. EDIT: Just realized this is the blue stipe wa76 so I have no experience with that

All the units you refer to, cost almost twice the price of the Warm, so I ‘d expect sonic difference. The question will be how different and what’s the better value proposition: different horses etc.!

When I saw this at first I thought - oh great a budget 1178. Alas, just another 76A and D …. with a funky stereo version. I already have a BLA Bluey which is absolutely superb (imho every studio should have one ) I’d like to add a D and a 1178. The Audioscape 1178 is the obvious choice - in the uk it’s about $2000 so not cheap - but it’s the one I’ll go for - I’ve heard Jonken rave about it so much I’m sure it’s superb. That leaves a D for my collection? Maybe this new WA 76 D is a step up from their first offering? Who else is there for a great D version …. Audioscape again I guess?

Warm Audio and Audioscape both posted their own 1776 series videos within 12 hours of eachother.
What does it mean? Coincidence or?
