Has anyone had a chance to directly compare these two 500 series EQs?
I bought a BAE 1073 DMP preamp a few months ago and I'd love to have a 1073 style EQ to go with it (but it has to be something with HPF). Would love to hear from anyone who has tried both. I've seen a few demos online, but nothing that has me leaning one way or the other.

I've seen a few demos online, but nothing that has me leaning one way or the other. I’ve got the BAE 1073D and the EQ on it is absolutely superb. For me in comparison I found the AMS pre and EQ to sound a bit vanilla for my taste. The BAE sounds closer to what I would call the original Neve sound. The AMS is no slouch, just a bit cleaner and leaner to my ears. That might be a good thing? |

I also have a pair of 1073Ds and I really like the EQ. I'm wondering how the 73EQL stacks up though - several more frequency points, so I imagine the design is pretty different. I looked at a pic of the guts and there are a few ribbon cables, which I tend to associate with cost-cutting, so that concerns me a bit.  |

Can even go full on 1084…they do have HPF, and LPF. They’ll assemble for you as well, for an extra fee. Ez1084 |

Ez1084These look great and I've definitely considered them in the past, but I'm just looking for a single-space standalone EQ. Does AML make one? I know they had a single-space EQ previously, but you had to use it with their pre in front of it. |

They make one which is an add-on to their pre, but this one should work universally…. Ez1073eq |
