Continuing from Samar’s debut of the ShokBase thread here, here’s the mount I ended-up with for the Barbaric Big Beast of a mic (probably won’t be completed for another month or two) since Enhanced Audio recently went under, literally a month before I was going to order a mount from them:  |

I had the thought of an inspired-by remake in 2017 with a Thiersch M7, Flea F9 (as another capsule option), two 5963 tubes (instead of EF12s), and a Cinemag CM-S217D transformer. Head-baskets are just Blue and Violet, that I bought used. Obviously, the body was going to be biggest problem and that put things on hold. This year, I got online and looked-up the closest machine-shop to my house. Turns out, a retired machinist is working out of his garage just a couple miles away! |
