Maybe it's time to buy the 87 clone I've been talking about for a year(maybe a pair as I just got paid?). I was pretty close to grabbing a Serrano, but then I was leaving for tours for a few months. I don't love that the switches are inside, but I think the case just unscrews easily, right? Hmm.

Just ordered my Bu67-269. Really looking forward to this vein of sound. I know it's not a u67, but my goodness... It's not $7000 either.
Definitely plan on having a pair at some point, but this is exciting. Will be nice to have another tube mic to go with my Bouchard kit m49c. I just don't have the time to build mics anymore.

Trust me… The “individual voice” is a MUCH bigger factor. The difference on U67 RI vs. OG 67 BZ setting is very subtle.
Even “rest n’ water” makes more of a difference between them.
BTW Ben’s 87 style is similarly close to a Vintage 87. Chris

251 has the look. I have no idea what the sonic differences are.

BN251 or Tribute 2. Which one would you pick ? Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything comparing any of the Tribute models to the Classic Models. For instance, I loved what I heard out of the Tribute 1 when I got to use it but I've never heard the BU47. The good news is every BeesNeez mic I've ever tried or owned was top notch(Tribute 1, B67-269, BC12a Tube, B87i C, Lulu FET)... I, like you though am very curious at the differences between the Tribute and Classic Models.

I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that Ben spoke about the differences in either the original BN251 thread or the BN shootout. If I can find it later, I'll quote or link it. Edit - I was mistaken, it was a point made about the different series leading to some clue about the differences... There is intentionality in the current naming via Series however, I would like to see a side-by-side chart with differences between Tribute and Classic Classic Series For many years, our customers have asked us to launch a microphone series that would provide an affordable option for these classic beauties. We have been able to achieve this without a compromise on build or sound quality. For this reason, the BeesNeez Classic Series was created. The newest addition to the BeesNeez range, this range allows us to keep our promise to the industry to bring the highest-quality microphones to the market at an affordable price. Each microphone in the Classic Series includes BeesNeez transformers, capsules and swivel mount connectors, all adding to the outstanding quality of the BeesNeez Classic Series. You will not be able to find another clone microphone of the same standard. Tribute Series There seems to be a constant pressure in the market to have microphones that sound just like the classics of days gone by. To meet this demand, BeesNeez Microphones has designed a range of microphones that will produce sounds comparable to their vintage counterparts, while still being unique and holding to the pattern of not being a clone manufacturer. Rather, we seek to produce fitting tributes to a wonderful part of history. The BeesNeez Tribute Series microphones have the same sonic characteristics as the classics, but also benefit from the added addition of BeesNeez ingenuity. The end result is: the same character, the same sonic capturing, more features and an improved build quality. The Tribute Series brings all of this together into a beautifully presented microphone that is going to stand the test of time.

Oh shit! I don't need any more microphones, but these prices at VK are nuts. I'm feeling a strong GAS toward the 414 thingy. FAAAARK!!! Fark!.... WTF?? I just added the BC12A FET to my cart at Vintage King and the price jumped from $576-ish to $610. Did the exchange rate with the AUD change while I was adding the mic to my cart?? Hmmm...I might just have to rethink this. Yeah, I'm a cheap mofo.

Winds over the earth eBay store didn't jack with the price on me. 1248 or so before shipping for the BU67. Maybe they have the mic you want.

I really wish I could buy a whole slew of BN mics…I’d love a pair of their 87’s, pair of BU67’s, and some LuLu Fets…. But alas…I cant afford any of them right now.

Do you get hit with import fees when buying direct?

Do you get hit with import fees when buying direct? When I added to cart on the BN site it didn't add any. If they send a bill for VAT, just put it back in the mailbox.

Do you get hit with import fees when buying direct? Not in my experience (California). I bought my Lulu Fet directly. Great mic, great price.

That's weird shayzer... The output seems very low, I can barely hear you talking on the video. Did you check everything: connections, power, cables, preamp gain?

Ben says he’s aware! (Just got off phone) He mentioned to check the Power Setting just like Wiz mentioned. Chris P.S. It’s around 9AM Sunday, in Queensland.
