Oh Chris, you're always joeyking My jokes are at least 20% off. The ENTIRE year. I told my family “I want to be a comedian” They just laughed at me. …. Well they’re not laughing now.

How about the RGO “Best Beesneez” Laugh Contest? Then I can practice the laugh on “Wipeout”/Surfari’s. So…
47 or 49 Style? Maybe 251? C12?
What did the Corner Wedges call the Omni Pattern? “You’re Pointless!” But seriously Folks… Chris

Not sure about matched pairs, mics? I really dig my B67, it’s a mk2. I have a couple reissues and a pair of real 269s in my orbit. Having tracked with all of the above, the Beesneez is a phenomenal value. If you rehoused it in a vintage Neumann shell, you would surely fool me. Definitely the best vocal mic I’ve ever personally owned. How does it compare to a U47? Compared to a U47, the B67 feels lighter in the low girth of a voice and a tad more open on top, but not like a CK12 bright/airy. For my voice, which is a lower tenor now that I'm older, the U47 fits me better but the B67 is my favorite on piano. I like it better on instruments compared to the U47. I'm glad I have both. They are always getting used.

Some of the sale prices are starting to show up at Vintage King so it does look like it will be a sale through dealers as well! What's the sale price on VK? I see I can get one for 1360ish shipped direct from BN...VK Is 1560 or so.

It wasn't planned that way but it was just the way my business shifted during the covid era. I thought for sure my tracking days were behind me so I unloaded some mics and sure enough, right after that, I had a band from Chicago contact me that travelled all the way to NC to record with me LOL. Of course! I'd love to have a pair of BU67 down the road.

I'm still not seeing the B67 on sale at VK or any other US retailer. It should be $1302, but I'm still seeing $1560. Where are you guys seeing it on sale?
Should I just order from Beesneez direct? Maybe even save on tax that way?

For my voice, which is a lower tenor now that I'm older, the U47 fits me better but the B67 is my favorite on piano. I like it better on instruments compared to the U47. I'm glad I have both. They are always getting used. Thanks for that. I’m a lower tenor now (I’m 61 years old) I’ve always sound great on 47’s but I’m also liking my voice these days on a BLUE Kiwi - so I was thinking I might really like the BU67 for some songs - jazzier softer tunes. Especially as I read the BU67 has a switch to alter the voicing to a touch darker. Also, as you say for instruments - in good to have options.

I grabbed a BU87IC and a Lulu FET during their last holiday sale. I’m kind of tempted to add a 2nd BU87IC for stereo.
But the BC12A FET price is looking pretty good right now too.

Mine just stays OG 67/Default Setting. Chris

By advance, sorry to derail the thread slightly.
If YOU had to chose between the BN251 and the Tribute 2, for a vocal mic, and trying to be smart about it (not necessarily taking the look into account) which one would you chose ?
I can have 10% off on top of the 20% off via my dealer in Europe. I can't pass on this.
It's not a black or white situation I know. The BN251 is more or less an "Export" version (6072a tube), and the Tribute is more or less a "german broadcast" version (AC701 type tube, although BN found a russian military tube to replace it, the same used in the Neumann M49v re-issue).
And then the Tribute has 9 patterns instead of three, gold connectors, way less plastic in the build, it seems to be Ben's "better mic"... Weirdly enough the Tribute is 300 less.
Not much intels online about the differences in sound between a 6072 and a AC701k. The 701 might be leaner in the low, and more airy ? It's just one or two old comments on the builder forums that say that.
Thanks

But I'm a lot afraid of what's gonna happen soon...
