Hey guys,
My Zen came in today, I'm currently on five different projects at various stages of completion so I'm going to finish those up on the old rig and start doing projects on the Zen/Mac. My biggest hurdle are the lack of cracked waves plugins which I am unwilling to steal again. That was fine for the days where I wasn't getting paid, now I am so I don't feel right using them. Hoping VMR comes just in time to fill the void. First impressions, well it's not cheap, it feels very solid, I was up and running with it connect in 10 minutes, didn't record anything but am going to do that tonight and take it to band practice. Will report back.

Just bounced down a project I did tonight, recorded band practice.
FULL DISCLAIMER, I am on new monitors, a first time Mac user and I have the Zen to contend with. I feel like I'm relearning damn near everything these days.
There was a word clock issue with tonights jam, not sure what the hell happened as my bandmates got impatient and I just clicked record and hoped for the best. Drivers are extremely buggy and after an evening of ripping my hair out I hit factory reset on the unit and audio started coming through the correct outputs. Once I get through learning this unit I will be thankful I think but until such time I am frustrated with it and the Mac and the fact that Gclip is PC only and I have VERY few plugins to work with on this machine. I am really hoping Slate comes out with VMR soon and moving to a screen half the size is also a major pain in the ass, I started a thread about my desire to live in a tiny house and work on this rig, it turns out Winnipeg isn't progressive enough to make them legal so this stuff is all going to be used on location and to a lesser extent in my new apartment. I've got a ton of work to post in the showoff forum but I will take care of that tomorrow.

Tech support at Antelope found me, not the other way around. The Zen was tested with Cubase 7 not 6, it was a word clock issue that I think is sorted out but we shall see. I'm going to wander around tomorrow and see if there are any bands practicing that will let me attend and test things.

New interface AND the move from PS to Mac.. No wonder you're feeling a little disoriented. Hope all will work out and settle soon!

SMH, i wonder if your bragard confession would prompt waves to press charges against you for stealing if they see this? i know if i owned the company, i most certainly would. It's funny how it's not funny when someone like spotify/pandora treats song writers unfairly... which is technically legal, the value of those stolen plugs constitutes class 3 felony theft haha |

I've since purchased them legally, I haven't stolen a plugin since I was 16 which is when I got the Waves bundle. Not bragging, I'm fully aware of what kind of reaction cracked plugins get on forums. |
