Oh yes.
I have had all 4 (still have two).
The old Marinairs and class A/B output with the 440 DOA is the most magical sounding one, super thick low end, quite dark but C had it's own cool sound with much more presence and top end. Also a bit more sterile sounding.
On the SA-609+ (or MK3) I have added all 4 into one unit. Including the latest N revision.
It's a pretty cool machine.

Yeah. It's kind of annoying but I get to use an OG metal knob one all the time and it's just got something to it. More natural, gooshy grab, great on everything - piano, kick snare bass, drum buss, mix, blah blah. I hate that I notice it - I had the Heritage 609A, used the new N, the Audioscape ones. They're all fine and good. Just not the metal knob. Cork sniffing.
