I'm getting to the stage in this build where i need to start thinking about hardware hookups, i'm going to be in need of approx 250- TRS 1/4" male, 100- xlr's in combo M/F
it seems neutrik is prefed over switchcraft?
redco has the amphenol 1/4", i have zero idea why amphenol is good or bad? any info/sourcing on good bulk buy deals is appreciated
Thanx fella's

I can find sources that can beat Redcos price, but I still buy connectors and wire from Redco because They have quanities in stock !

I prefer the Neutrik style of connector, with the screw-on end that integrates the fingered strain relief. Switchcraft and Amp used to have only the "fold-over" style of clamp which isn't a problem for connections that stay in place (such as the backside of gear in a rack), but tend to fail in anything that has a lot of pulling or bending such as guitar cords. I've had good luck using bulk knock-offs of neutriks from china, but you have to be careful, sometimes you'll find a few that have loose tips or rings that can create intermittent connections. I only use those in the same low movement situations like the back of the rack gear. I wouldn't use them in anything instrument related or any place where things get (un)plugged a lot. I used something like this for the male 1/4: www.ebay.com/itm/141080785632?var=440184385009&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

ConnectorsI've never had a problem with the connectors. That's who I use for my cables.

I really like the amphenol 1/4" TRS -- they're low profile, and easier to solder than neutrik in my experience. The metal tabs are a little flimsy though... I've broken a couple.

Neutrik all the way, silver contact. Silver oxide has the same electrical properties as untarnished silver.
