John - "We" aren't. I have no argument with you. Tony and I? Evidently, that's a different story. I have no problem with him, even after him calling me an asshole. I choose to believe the "issue" of our disagreements is because of past bad blood between us, a communication gap that seems to be impassable, and perhaps more to the crux of it - due to a style / mentality / form of expression / difference of experience / or what have you that is outside the range of comfort of tony. I dunno. I tend to get along well with others. Not sure what the deal is TBH. Yeah - sometimes preconceived notions influence how we read things. Let's leave it at this - you guys both have good points and just agree to disagree. Obviously, there's not much that can be said that wouldn't come of badly at this point. Lets just move on and get along. stream1.gifsoup.com/view3/1785435/rodney-king-o.gif

Let's discuss how badly 'Moby' needs a decent recording engineer and mixing engineer... granted, all their work could be for naught if the mastering engineer fries everything with the typical Loudness wars crap! Ward - curious - do you think the sound of that track is due to inept engineering/mixing/mastering or due to a warped creative esthetic?

I have to admit...I haven't listened on my monitors...maybe that's why it hasn't struck me as sounding so bad. But...I think it sounds exactly like he wanted it to...it's just aesthetics...or taste.

I agree John. Compared to a ton of hipster indie stuff that's as distorted to hell and back, the vocal is pristine. I hear what Ward is talking about though, but like you, I think it's an artistic choice.

not all hipster stuff is wanky. one of my favourite "hipster" bands has a song of theirs on TB next episode according to facebook.
the album was recorded by flood and rates as one of the best albums in my humble opinion. songs and album are pure art.
band is warpaint
anyways..... gives me a thought to start a thread for current stuff that's recorded well. not sure what radio stations everyone is listening to but there is volumes of quality "art" doing the rounds if you know where to look.
