This might be the most “democratic” speaker that I’ve heard. I always take a couple minutes to listen to whatever’s playing out of it when I’m leaving the store. You mostly get vocals, especially if it’s 60s music or something like “Born to Run”, but I’m amazed at how many “essential” components of a well-mixed song still come through on this thing. 90s mixes somehow manage to fit just about everything in there, just at reduced bandwidth. The specs say it’s limited to 400-7.8k. I’ve given half a thought to picking up one of these to use as a grot box (you can still buy them new), but that sounds like insanity. Should I just get a MixCube if that’s the kind of thing I’m looking for? Attachments:

Put a decent amp in front of it and well they suck, most are 70volt so there is a transformer that won’t play well with higher power, frequency response is anything but flat. Less highs and lows than even Bose, they usually spec LF down to around 70, but really it’s more like 140.
