If you can live within the Softube / UAD ecosystem a nice s system for mixing, not so much for tracking. If they had built it with something like my RADAR controller and expandable it would be pretty sweet. The dream would be if Softube embraced the idea of a user built / supported database of maps for non compatible plugins. But their primary business is selling their plugins & Im thinking like a lighting guy.
Really the problem is this: every decent control surface uses a proprietary protocol, HUI isn’t just outdated it’s over 30 years old.

Phase shifted top end from mixed phase anti alias filters. No thank you on anything really recorded with mics. The Weiss console 1 strip is worse than the other Weiss plugs.

Softube are u-He for guitars but their tape plugs and delays aren’t as good. Their primary business is selling amp sims and plugs to modify them and samples and they are excellent at that. Their plugs used on real recordings? I’d stick to the Weiss and the fx.

Thinking of it to control Luna fab filter filter and UAD plug-ins Not so much soft stuff stuff It should be fine, but what always worries me with 2 manufacturers partnerships is what happens if say Softube gets bought or UA says “we can do better “. Now I’ll say it again if someone wants to make some money and do some good design a Codec so an OLD Alesis BRC can be used with all the major DAW’s.

to me softube console/fader is too expensive. same goes for ssl controller. i bought myself a used behringer x-touch for the faders mainly and i won the rocksolid micro4k in a giveaway. but even if you buy it its around 250€. and you simply programm it for the most used plugins. its not perfect but in sum way cheaper and so i use the x-touch faders and the rocksolid for my ssl channelstrips, the AA gold and a few other plugins. link: rocksolidaudioltd.com/products/micro-4k?srsltid=AfmBOopGcM_gNL5wYdHoKsqQq9MBLW-IzZ8a89U-NYnxEGZGBRp7-gVhi wish the x-touch was smaller though.

Thinking of it to control Luna fab filter filter and UAD plug-ins Not so much soft stuff stuff It's great Wiz. I use it to control my UAD and UADx plugins. It's great for navigating large Cubase projects. And contrary to the usual (I've never used one but I'll diss it anyway - stuff you read on forums) the Softube channels do sound very good to my ears. I really like the Brit channel and the SSL 9K channels.

What did you pay in the uk for it?
Here in Canada with taxes, well over a $1,000, seems dear.

I really like the Brit channel and the SSL 9K channels. nobody said the softube channels sound bad. The British class a sounds very cool and is better than many other neve emualtions. The problem is the phasing of the top end, changing the sound and drastically affecting the recorded stereo image and any high frequency distortion or noise common to many recorded guitars and synthesizers. This is undesirable. Now if all of your music is fake like dis into an amp sim, drum samples, vsti synths like many genres of modern pop, rock, edm, and metal where the production quality is marginal and there is no attempt to create a real space this can be negligible. Otherwise, it is to be avoided.

It didn’t at first, didn’t UA and Softube set that up later, and then there was some controversy about which plugs were usable and which weren’t ?

A perspective from long time user/single owner studio/professional musician doing alot of sessions for myself and others; If it is not popular, so be it.
Selling softube Console and Fader after years of frustration with mediocre sound quality, congested GUIs and countless slow CS experiences was very liberating. Working again, outside of that cramped, menu diving eco system brought much needed mental relief and clarity back to my mixes. It is easy to get caught up in...and... after awhile you get used to what it does to the sound and eventually your standards have shifted without knowing it.
Once I started to work without it again, I practically gave it away here on RGO forum including the large amount of $$ plugins I bought.
I will say - I very much like the separate Weiss plugins from Softube the company, and I use the Weiss EQ, Weiss comp/lim, Weiss DS1-MK3 and the Wiess MM1. But 'console' and fader is anything but... It does not feel, or respond like a 'console'.
You may be able to 'control' UAD plugins, to a degree, but it comes at cost IMO. It just may take some time to feel the cost.

I can control plugins like the Hitsville EQ and the API EQ's .... I find it very useful and a neat workflow in Cubase.

@fm that’s kinda why I sold it too. I started wondering if there was any true efficiency over mouse/track pad, I still had to invoke some change in the controller, but now, you were somewhat trapped in its environment, rather than just doing what you want directly.
Every controller I have had used has added some extra layer somewhere and it’s environment learning curve. I concluded it wasn’t more efficient and it doesn’t have transport controls.
Personally, I’d consider the new Nektar controller first, but I also use logic.

Another (Reaper-centric) perspective ... I don't like any of its plugins, but controlling UAD ones was cool.
So instead of selling mine or turning it into a paperweight, I spent hours remapping it using Realearn to use it with better plugins (SlickEQ / MJUC) and I like it a lot this way. I hate clicking and dragging to EQ; I find it very distracting and this solves that problem for me.
Softube announced 3rd party plugin support in the future. If that materializes, it should be fantastic for those that can't or won't remap it.
But if I was condemned to use Softube plugins with it, I would have thrown it in the trash long ago.

Personally, I’d consider the new Nektar controller first, but I also use logic. This is why I like the options that manipulate your mouse/keyboard. There is no additional layer to contend with and they're basically compatible with everything. These sort of solutions, like Stream Deck and the Rocksolid Micro 3, require no wrappers or anything else. They just manipulate your mouse and keyboard a lot faster than you could ever do by hand, with the added bonus that there are no compatibility issues or loss of certain features (such as side chain) like you might experience with other options that require you to work inside a wrapper or other "environment".

I still can't seem to find if it has been confirmed one way or the other that Softube has addressed this? I "thought" that I maybe saw that it might have been addressed, but I'm not sure.
