Wondering if anyone knows what the original [keyboard] patch used for the opening of the remix from the mid-90s. I am sure it has been processed for the final sound, but wanted a starting point. Googley searches led me to either something on the Korg M1 or on the Korg Prophecy, but haven't been able to confirm it, and I don't have VSTs for either of those, but was thinking about picking one up, hence the question. Appreciate any thoughts insight you might have. Here is the video for reference... still wondering if I should have posted this question.....for so many reasons....  |

It's really hard to tell, but I think you're on the right track with the idea of a M1-ish guitar/pluck/clav patch with distortion if it's not on there already and that crazy ping pong delay. |

There is this "energy" that the stab has to it which is the thing I like about it. I did not realize it until you pointed it out, indirectly, but I think the "crazy ping pong delay" is the thing adding the energy to it. This "sound" might be less about the stab itself and more about that delay and how they implemented it - very cool. I am still trying to figure out the patch though.... |
