Hi! I'm doing some work on some of the Steely Dan outtakes, getting them up to scratch and sounding like a finished record. To do this, I'm working with a team of 5 people who are all masters of AI work, and they have made quite a few Donald Fagen models for me to use to fill in the gaps where the original recordings are too broken to use. However, to train these models you have to feed it quite a bit of material. So far we've used the center channel of the 5.1 surround mixes to get rid of most of the instruments, and then isolated the vocals. However, it's not perfect, and there's still quite a bit of artifacts. This is why I'm looking for someone who has the 24-track of Gaucho (and maaaybe Aja, but preferrably Gaucho or even The Nightfly). I know they are circulated between some of the top engineers, so I'm looking for someone who might know someone to whom I can plead me case, and maybe get some clean non-reverb Fagen vocals to work with. It would change our game big time! Here's some examples of what I do. Nothing is replaced and re-recorded, it's all the original content of the tape, just restored with my own developed methods and using a mix between Fagen's real vocals and AI vocals in the places where he doesn't sing: This is the original tape: And this is my restoration of the tape: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/fxstzjrx3j43f8tram85l/The-Second-Arrangement-Master.wav?rlkey=ls3pfoqqkjvdasl49na5ghrej&st=pvv8w1wb&dl=0Thanks people!
