Whoa…I’ve wondered when some of these companies like Undertone and Retro Instruments were going to start getting in the game.

I really, really, really don’t need to spend any more money…but I love UTA stuff and Eric seems like a funny dude.

Good for them but at this point I personally don't bother with the latest plugins unless it either enhances my workflow or has upped the sonics game quite noticeably. Will this offer anything that I can't already pretty much do with MJUC or Magic Death Eye or Fuse Federal or etc? That'd be great if it did but for now it's status quo for me.

First question, why you chose Mixland to partner on this release? I don't know much of their plugins but doesn't seem to have anything related to these vintage emulations. Also, how were your involvement with the coding?

Ya, this is about the only instance where I would try ANOTHER fairchild plugin. I'm sure it's awesome, I'll give this a drive soon!

Also, how were your involvement with the coding? I crossed paths with Mixland through a mutual friend (Jurgen Strauss.) I tried their rubberband compressor and was really impressed with it. I get sent plugins a lot and can be a bit cynical about it. So many I try aren't worth the time it takes to really check them out and there are SO MANY now. i actually found myself using the rubberband comressor on some mixes and that said a lot. I needed to partner with someone to create this plugin because I have exactly ZERO coding skills. They were super game to have me torture them for a year with all my picky-ness haha!

I saw that they've made the Plugin Alliance Vac Attack. That seems closer to this release.

re: “around here”
I always just go to the nav drop-down and hit New Topics. That shows me the most recent posts in any/all the sub-forums here.

I don't know if the fellas really know that this part of the forum exists. I like this new (it's new right?) section. We have a bunch of devs that hang around on this site, cool to put it all in one area.

Tried the plug on bass and drum bus…and it’s really good. I don’t know of another plug that changes the tone this much by just slapping it on. I mean that in a good way. Maybe the UAD LA2 is as colored… Having the attack/release and DC threshold makes this thing incredibly versatile.

Eric demonstrates an unlinked M/S preset in the video a few posts above this one, and it seemed perfect for a tune I was mastering, so I downloaded the demo. Pretty fuggin great. The compression action is excellent, and the tone is outstanding (no surprise given the fella who wrote the plug). I've always found the UAD Fairchild to be a bit boring, never really doing "the thing" that the various Fairchild-inspired hardware boxes I've used could do. The recent Lindell take on the Fairchild is really, really good, and I'd been happily using that the past couple months, but this UTA thing offers a different flavor, and I prefer the interface and 'calibration'. I'm eager to a/b the Lindell and the UTA this morning on the mix I have slated.

How do you make it dual mono? I see the IND position, but everything is still linked.

ev33 on vacation so haven't installed the plug, but curious if you incorporated the accessory box into the functionality of the plugin?
