I bet we all have some. I'll probably remember more and update this as I go along. I've sold a TON of stuff I regret selling (maybe that's too strong of a word , but I at least "miss" them). At the same time, c'est la vie, right?
Gibson GA-45 60's Ludwig champagne sparkle drum kit (it wasn't that great but I should have held on to it) 80's Yamaha Tour Custom ("redwood") drum kit - sounded great... 2000's Beech Custom (blueberry) drum kit (but I do still own a nice Beech Custom Absolute kit...) 2000's White Marine Pearl Yamaha Beech Custom Absolute (how dumb am I? I sold it because I didn't like the kick sound, but figured out later I hate "Superkick" drum heads...) Pearl Session Studio Select (black halo glitter - love that color) - another great sounding kit, but I added on and then it was huge and I did not need to store that... Pearl Crystal Beat drum kit (tangerine) - was feeling like I had too many kits (I did) but it was cool... Couple DBX 160X's Yamaha SPX90 and SPX900 Dynacord DRP15 (when I was in one of my ITB only phases) AML 5003D (I had a pair, sold one to a friend, then eventually bought another so I have a pair again...) Probably the AKG 414's that I have for sale now sold lol

It's going to look like a weird glitch of duplicate posts but they will be actual individual posts that read STA-Level

I sold my entire studio all at once almost 10-years ago. The only three things I truly regret selling:
All my DaviSound gear... I bought them back though. An original LA-3A An RFT CM-7151 with a great Neumann M7
Kick myself! Stupid!

My soul and dignity to obtain and hold on to gear I don’t have the heart to part from and in the real world really could not afford to own… but thankfully we gear heads live in an alternative universe where we still somehow have them 🤣

Nothing lasts forever. Gear comes, gear goes -- it's the cycle of life.
But in reality...I just try not to think about that Altec 436A I sold...

1960 Gibson Les Paul Jr. Lightweight, good intonation, barking tone
1965 Fender Princeton Reverb
1965 Gibson ES 335
I sometimes subscribe to the old adage: you can't go broke selling for a profit.

No. 7 is sitting in the rack…it was just too good of a deal for a new one. But yeah…that could possibly be my biggest one over and over.

Not classic audio gear, but classic auto gear, I built out 4 old 70’s broncos over the years, one of them had a boss 302 motor, the last had a 1963 thunderbird interior, all custom and all top notch builds, I sold them all over the years for no more than -$20k each, these 4 trucks would sell for about $1/2 million today at least, they are my JK sta-level of an easy retirement vaporized 🤦🏻♂️ (repeatx1000)In all fairness to me, how was I to know? And also fuk me!🤷🏻♂️

Stereo pair of Shure KSM-141. Sold and bought three times. I'm keeping the current pair.

Selling my mint M88TG for $150 (what I paid originally) Thankfully, I've got AKG D790/EV 635a/EV 767a now... To be comparable IMHO to ONE M88 on me.* Again like Jerry Lewis said to Dino... "It took a WHOLE Rat Pack to replace me!" Chris *I did misplace my 58. Blessing or Curse?

All the Dangerous Music stuff I had. Most of the dbx equipment and other cheap but good stuff I never used.
Honestly I don’t really miss any of it. ITB rules when you can use the good new stuff and can afford the good old stuff that used to cost more than gear.

Mine are mostly in the vein of "cobbler's children have no shoes".
Sold my restored Gates SA-38's and 39's when they shot up, had a near perfect matched pair with very close serial #s. Plans to build a stereo replacement with orig transformers. Hasn't happened. Sold my restored Collins 26U-2. See above. Sold a restored pair of Gates SA-10 tube monitor amps (RCA BA-4 clones) to finance a more blingy but electronically identical pair of older RCA monitor amps. Those still aren't restored. Traded a rack of 4 mint Langevin 117-A's for an RCA 96-A limiter. Those sounded great and looked amazing. Can't keep it all.
Some of mine are in the territory of gear that at one point wasn't worth restoring financially, and was parted out. Years go by, restoration would make sense if it was still sitting around. Alas.....

Roland System 100m. A two cabinet set. Paid an astonishing £35 for it in a blind auction and sold for £1500 ten years later. Still gutted I let it go!

What is this word ‘sell’ of which you speak?
I thought this was a hoarding support group

My Demeter VTMP-2B. Sold it to a friend to fund my AMS Neve 1073 DPX. I kept using it at his studio while tracking there. I missed it, so I tracked another used one down and bought it again. Just cut a session vocal with it. Great preamp for FET mics.

A beat up Gibson Firebird. It was definitely in “players condition, but it felt good and was a blues machine. I got it my head that I had to have a Les Paul and traded it in for one. Went to try and get it back a couple of days later but it was gone.

An original made in Latvia BLUE Kiwi.
It was made by the guy who became Violet mics.
It was a truly stunning mic with a unique warm and yet detailed.
I have a BLUE USA made one now and as good as it is - it doesn’t have a patch on that Latvian made version.
That was a big regret!
Sold it to buy a Latvian made BLUE Bottle …. which I hated and sold at a big loss.
Wish I’d just kept that Kiwi …. darn it.

At the time it was the right thing to do, but now I miss the AEA R88 blumlein stereo ribbon mic & the AEA RPQ2 dual preamp. Lovely sonic texture from the stereo mic, perfectly paired with their specialized ribbon preamp. If you haven't already, check this ytube channel <- click The AEA R88 is featured in many of the earliest recordings. Also some lovely mono recordings with the classic 44 & U47.

Ugh!! A 1997 PRS 10 top tobacco sunburst. The best playing guitar I ever owned. Wide/Fat neck, sounded so good!
I traded it and cash for a beautiful fully modded (Jim Williams) Soundcraft Delta 8 with a custom built psu (meter bridge, 24 channels -sounds so good!). But I don't use the Delta anymore, just hard to recall. Would love to use it as a tracking sidecar, but don't really have the room in the control room. I would much rather have the guitar now...

Just cut a session vocal with it. Great preamp for FET mics. Yes. The somewhat bashed Neuman 184 works out really well when paired to the Demeter pre. By the way, I am not sure if you are into changing tubes, but the one I had came with Chinese tubes which I swapped out for NOS tubes.
