So it is not like Waves where they are essentially punishing you for being on a Mac. I'm certainly not trying to defend Waves, but they are likely not the ones punishing you for being on a Mac. Did they release the OS update that broke everything? Nope. I've been using my Waves plugins (mostly v13 and some v14 on Windows) without WUP for several years (since 2021) and they still work fine (and when they don't I'll have to find an alternative). Oh yeah. I've got other complaints, but that's not one of them. No, Waves didn’t release the OS. But other companies seem to cope. Either you support your product or you don’t. Waves doesn’t so I won’t buy anything by them ever again. Ymmv. The Kush updates that want you to pay for at least have new features. I get that. I just don’t appreciate having to pay what is in effect full price, while a brand new user can get it for half that. That I don’t think is fair. Cheers, Geoff

No doubt that we've all lived and (hopefully) learned about the companies that do and do not support their products (and we spend our money with those that do support us). I don't expect a company that sells a product for $29 to work forever, but it is nice to get at least 3-5 years out of it (or longer if I paid more). And I think we all have similar expectations for hardware, although I expect well more than 5 years even though some products are built almost "disposable" these days (and certainly not referring to the products in the title of this thread).

Just as an aside, I see someone in canada selling a used mki, likely what 3-5 year’s old asking $3,000 cdn plus shipping. I find it odd how people price used stuff almost as a function of the current price of the mkii: sad:)
