I have an Apollo x6 that was modded by BLA. Sounds fantastic. I’ve always had a separate DA, however, because of my setup. I use a trinnov, so here’s my setup path. Not exactly sure Apollo SPDIF OUT —> AES IN of Trinnov —> AES OUT of Trinnov to AES IN of Hilo.
BUT - I want to use the Apollo DA. Problem is, I can’t monitor the digital return, because it would cause a feedback loop. (I’m listening to what’s going out) I want to come back in digital from the Trinnov - so is there a way I could do this somehow?

I assume you want to sell the Hilo but don’t like the trinnov DA?
You have to create a new output bus within the Apollo Console app that doesn’t feed the same outputs as your main out 1-2. It’s easy enough to do that with an AVB matrix like what MOTU uses (ok “easy” isn’t the best word). Not sure how you’d do it on console.
Maybe return the digital spdif in to a stereo channel pair in console, then pull the fader down to zero, effectively muting it. Then send an Aux out of that same channel to another physical output of your interface. Or something similar.
