Hey everybody,
Chris from Audioscape here. We’ve got some exciting news about our business model going forward that I wanted to share with you guys, in case you haven’t seen our updates on FB and IG.
Our “Classic Products” will now be in stock and available on the site on a regular, ongoing basis, with new releases dropped per the usual Wednesday and Saturday schedule.
We’re excited to let you guys know we’ve been able to scale up our production to the point where we can finally sell our classic Audioscape units - currently the 14 below, but more soon to come! - as regular stock, available for purchase year-round like any other web store.
That includes the following:
Buss Comp Opto Comp 76D/F/A EQP-A MEQ-A V Comp D Comp V3A AS78 260VU XL-305R ASA-6A
So, no more waiting for Wednesday and Saturday drops on these units - if you want to pick one up, you can order from the site right now! (And if for some reason you don’t see what you’re looking for in stock, shoot us an email - more often than not, we can hook you up.)
Our new releases (DA-3A, MAP D.AM-27, etc) will still operate on the classic Audioscape model. New batches will go up as soon as we’ve built them, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will be offered first come, first serve. This method gives our team the ability to take our time and get their footing with all the hurdles every new design may throw their way. It’s very important for you and us, for sanity reasons, that new products operate this way. After a year, though, they’ll move into the ‘Classic Products’ tab on our website - to make room for more exciting new products!
I should note that, while this is a notable change from our previous model, all of the gear is still made exactly the same way, using NOS and original parts where called for, and built by hand in our shop in Florida. We’ve been fortunate enough to build our business to a point where we can keep our production at a competitive pace, while still sticking to the process and method we’ve been using since the earliest days at Audioscape. You can do different, but you can’t do better!
We’ve also added a couple fun new bits to our website, like a Blog every Friday and other brand tabs for Sessiondesk and Vanguard, two companies we’re more than happy to rep alongside our own gear. As a note, their products are included in our sitewide End Of Summer Sale lasting through 8/31, so if you’re looking for a killer studio desk or a one-of-kind CK12-based FET LDC, go check them out!
P.S. - I should also mention to sign up for our email list. A lot of Fridays we are dropping a small cache of refurbished items, only available through email. Currently our best kept secret. Don’t miss out!
Cheers, Chris

You guys are doing excellent stuff, but… could you dial back the mailing list? It’s way too frequent in my opinion, and the consistent emails about ‘sales’ give the impression things are always on sale which may be giving the impression sale prices are the standard prices and ‘MSRP’ is just a number meant to make the real price more appealing- and the prices you sell for ARE excellent and fair. Just saying it may make customers a bit incredulous

Great stuff Chris. And I love that AS gear is now available in the UK direct - brilliant. I have a 78 on my wish list

We typically email 3 times a week. Wednesday and Saturday (days where we announce sales and new releases dropping) and a Friday Newsletter which usually which has insider info, spotlights on other cool brands and a small cache of any refurbished items. If you sign up for our mailing list you will receive three emails from us a week. We are busy grinding every day at the shop and want to keep people updated.
Regarding the MSRP, we don't use MSRP prices as we are a direct to consumer company as we don't sell through dealers. So, for instance, the Sitewide sale we're running is showing $100 off a $999 76A for $899, is indeed a real sales price. (Last week a 76A was $999). Definitely want to avoid any confusion with that.
I'm glad you brought this up and I started this thread because I think there's still some confusion about how we operate.
Always willing to peel back a few more layers and show what we're about so let me know if there's anything you (or anyone else) wants to know. If I can get tips on how to improve the process we'll take 'em too
Cheers!

Great stuff Chris. And I love that AS gear is now available in the UK direct - brilliant. I have a 78 on my wish list The team running the Audioscape UK site is the best. We are so grateful we've been able to find the right people, who are just as passionate about AS, to operate the Audioscape websites abroad and not sell thru dealers. This is definitely not the norm and something I'm personally proud of.
And the AS78 is equally amazing. The R&D process we took with that truly ensured we were 1:1 with the original before we even started on any mods to the circuit. Having Manny Nieto's original unit was very handy as well. We found the same everything parts-wise and packed it in there.

Maybe let people opt in to all 3 emails, 2 or just 1, have a box click in their account so it’s automated ?

Maybe let people opt in to all 3 emails, 2 or just 1, have a box click in their account so it’s automated ? This is a good idea. I spoke with our IT guy and he said we can try to implement this, it would make an option essentially to update your preferences.
I would say though, if your only way of getting news from us is email and you're not on socials, then we'd recommend getting all the emails so you don't miss out on any new announcements or new product drops. We move quick and they can happen in any one of those three emails.

You guys MUST be busy. There's been a critical shortage of Emoticons. BTW... Although at most, I'd only track a RAW Vocal, to send for an occasional Pro Level project...* For my Hybrid Friends, I always mention you guys. (Some of it is good too ) Kidding. Your stuff is awesome! Chris *Opto is first on my eventual "Dream List".

I understand but best to let peeps decide, no offence, AS has no idea how many unsolicited emails anyone is getting ? If they were so concerned, they can log in your site anytime.

Congrats Chris. Any chance any of the refurbs/special deal price drops start making their way over to the UK site?

Congrats Chris. Any chance any of the refurbs/special deal price drops start making their way over to the UK site? Thanks! I would say yes, it just may be a little bit before they build up enough stock as the new site just opened. I would reach out to the UK team and they can keep you up to date. They are a lot of fun to chat with as well Definitely let them know which pieces you're looking for. I'm sure they could get you setup nicely.

Hey all, Chris here from AudioScape again. I wanted to let you guys know about a little “flash sale” we’re doing on refurbished units. If you’re subscribed to our email newsletter, you may have seen some of our email-exclusive refurb drops. These have been super limited batches, just a couple units at a time, on a first-come, first-served basis. These units come back to us for a variety of reasons - sometimes they’re damaged in transit, some are demo stock, some are returns, sometimes the unit doesn’t pass QC on initial build to begin with and has never left the shop, etc. We go through all of them, fix and replace whatever needs fixing or replacing, and ensure each unit is brought 100% up to current spec, with a fresh warranty. We have been amassing these since we started in 2016 and this is the first time we’ve sold any refurbished units. These units need a home as well. This week we had some extra refurbs in the pile, so we’re opening up the sale to non-subscribers as well. Through the end of the week (or until they sell out), you can see what we’ve got listed at www.audio-scape.com/refurbished. As of this post we have five units left in stock: two EQP-A’s, two MEQ-A’s, and an XL-305R. We’ll be doing future refurb drops by email again, but you can get in on those by subscribing to our newsletter here if you haven’t yet. New subscribers also get $50 off their first purchase. audio-scape.us12.list-manage.com/subscribe?id=be2592f21c&u=91749e9e0985206f748746394 Happy to answer any questions about our refurb process, or any of the units for sale if you’ve got them. Cheers, Chris

Hey there Chris, I live in Australia and we do 240 volt power. I have had and enjoy the Vcomp for a few years. I have one of the first rarer models in the firsrt 10 x batch that was made. But I have to hook it up to 110 converter. Why isnt the Vcomp made in 240 volt or has this changed now? Thanks

I have a question…Is the MK-609 stereo and dual mono? It has a 3 position toggle for dual mono, stereo and quad mode. There's a jack on the back for quad mode, something we'll be exploring more on this comp in the near future
