I've had CONSTANT issues getting things installed on Ventura and now Sonoma. Really pissing me off. Often, the helper tools just won't install...all the instructions say to make sure full disk access is granted...blah blah. Everything is correct, it just won't work. I'm currently going back and forth very very slowly with Native Instruments support...now Access analog. Had to email another support team to get something else working earlier this year.
Is there a way to LESSEN the security features?

Yes, you can do what you used to have to do for the ua install?
I wonder if it’s just that software, I haven’t had any problems installing software on my m1, but I don’t use Kontact.

Yeah, go into settings and then the privacy and security tab. Then possibly the fulldisk access, or under Security allow applications from app store and identified developers.
I don’t like messing with this stuff and turn off wifi unless I am downloading something, but I did have to do some fiddling in there to get some stuff to load.
Cheers, Geoff

Unfortunately, it's not those two things. the other developers thing is correct and all of the helpers show as on in the full disk access.

If Silicon, this may be of use if you have not done it already: support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/change-security-settings-startup-disk-a-mac-mchl768f7291/macYou do not need to choose the second MDM option unless your machine is controlled by an organization or something like that.
