I’m. Not the most experienced person here but
I’m using an N32 thunderbolt , Pro Tools studio , and Mac Studio M1 . Other than the unit does run HOT it’s been rock solid . I’m running a lot of outboard inserts and latency has never been a problem . Pricey but awsome ! Sound is superb my previous conversion was Antelope, Motu , and Rme pretty noticeable difference with the Aurora

Anyone using a Lynx Aurora(n) in thunderbolt form? Any thoughts on its function, latency and sound quality appreciated thanx T Been on one for 3 years. It’s fantastic. The Lynx mixer takes a little thought to figure out, but it’s really useful once you get your head around it. Latency is a non issue for me. Sound quality has far exceeded my old Apollo stuff. I also have 4 preamps in mine and they are excellent as well. They’re clean and quiet and very high fidelity.

Love the conversion. 24 channels here via Tbolt 2 into an m1 mini. Latency isn't as low as via RME MADI on my old PC but low enough. Lynx confirmed Apple has slightly more latency. I can't remember. Half a ms?

Best interface sonically so far, zero problems on TB, mixer gui concept is interesting: highlight output first, then inputs, sd card feature, bit of a waste here, wish it were modular, would rather have pres.

I can basically echo the sentiments of posts above. I’ve got a Thunderbolt 24 channel setup with Mac mini. I don’t run a pro studio, so that’s a bit of a caveat, but a friend in town does with similar configuration, he’s been quite happy with it. It was worth every penny for me but took some saving. -Chris
Edit: I’m actually a huge fan of the SD card recording option, if I’m just testing a mic it’s nice just to hit record on the unit itself, don’t even need to boot up the computer. I’ve actually brought it with me to a venue, done a live remote recording direct to SD, imported tracks to daw later: quite convenient. In my rack I leave space above and below because of the heat.

I agree the SD adds value, for some, just not all: so I would prefer it not being built in, if modular, then you could choose.

I've had it freeze two or three times on me, but it's been a long time since the last freeze. I think it's very stable now. My unit at least.
Love its absence of sound. Crystal clear compared to the other brand I used before (motu and apogee).

Aurora(n) 24 channels thunderbolt on Win 10. I reserved the unit as a preorder, one of the first (n)s shipped, never an issue.
A few bumps from very rare power outages before I switched the PC and (n) power to a battery-backup system but that is not an (n) error.

Enjoy it Tony, bet the N handily beats out the Tascam sonically!

I have a Lynx Aurora (n). Thunderbolt has been solid and the unit sounds great. I can work at 64 samples if I want, though I don't need to. Support from Lynx is great. Buying one was a wise choice.

THumbs up for the Lynx N. I have 24 channels and am looking to get another 8 installed at some point soon to make it 32. Mine does freeze from time to time but a simple and quick power on power off does the trick everytime

16 Chan Lynx Aurora n here. The only issue I had and continue to experience is crackling headphone when adjusting the HP volume. I sent it back for a pot replacement and paid for the repair and shipping both ways. The same noise came back on the same HP channel, and they want me to pay again. F that.

Mine had the crackling issue (some early models had a bad card for the phones). They were gonna charge me to fix it, but I got the preamps installed and they did it for free. They should have known it wasn’t just a pot! Their facebook page is a good place to go if you’re unhappy with the service. Usually Paul chimes in and takes care of business.

I had an early (n) and my headphone amps would actually just go out and not pass sound. They couldn't get it to happen on their end but replaced them anyway and it's never happened again. They are scratchy though.

Dealing with the same headphone problem here. I now have the headphone pots turned up all the way and just use Lynx control to adjust the volume. I don't touch the knobs anymore because of that super annoying and literally painful crackle sound.

not looking forward to a headphone issue, i hope its not a problem on newer revisions, part of the advantage of SD recording portability is being able to use the headphone amp as well, wonder why Lynx didn't get a fix in for such a known issue?

My n32 is two years old and no headphone issues. In constant use.

I also have the same issue where it crackles or makes an abrasive noise when turning up the volume on phones 1. Paul told me to send it in for a pot replacement. And this was pretty recent. One of these days I may just take it over to Deltronics. Lynx should really address this.
