Just picked up EZDrums3 and it comes with a choice of a free EZX (not sure if thats a limited subset to pick from or any of them.)
I am looking at the one for Country....because...country...and the Songwriters Drumpack, which is probably not "free" in the deal.
I am a songwriter, focused mostly on Country, but country ain't country no more so the net on that sound seems wider. Appreciate your input on expansion packs that would be useful.
Thanks.
EDIT: Just realized its a free MIDI pack, not expansion. But, still gonna buy an expansion because I thought I was getting one....so why disappoint myself further?

The Michael Ilbert Pink hybrid in the pack sounds similar to a raw tracked kit to me. Perfect to break out and treat like the real thing.

Maybe it’s not on sale? Still looking and can’t find it?

Are there any EZ 3 kits that sound similar to SD Hansa ? I'm about to upgrade from EZ 2, but I would love the Hansa drums, plus when I'm using Addictive Trigger to replace live drum sounds.

Congrats! Also just bought EZD3. I chose the Singer Songwriter kit and MIchael Ilbert Part 2. Sometimes I work in a more pop country lane and have Mixwave to cover that base, but for Dark Country/Americana/Folkish stuff, these two sounded ideal. PS. Haven’t put them to work yet though, just bought them after listening to the samples and other review vids.

I ended up, for now, getting Nashville, Indie Folk, and Funkmaster. I figured Nashville would be good bread/butter drums for country and I really liked the "vintage" type sounds I was hearing from Indie/Folk and Funkmaster. Indie/Folk, in particular, has a round-badge Gretsch set and I think Patrick Carney plays one of those in the BKs. Some good sounds all around.

I would also like to know…some of the EZX’s are very new, many are older. Anyone know if a lot of the older ones were made for earlier EZD versions? Ie. are the newer ones better since they’re being made specifically for EZD3?

I need to open up some of the old ezx’s but my experience has been that the newer ones are always better as a rule.

All the old EZX's are 1gb and below. Newer ones are 2-8gb. That is a lot more samples.
I like the ones release post EZD3 the most in general.
