I needed another B3 like a hole in my head...but I couldn't stand it. I would suggest reading, though, because I bought Session Organ without realizing you need EZKeys 2...sigh. So, $190 later...
I know with every B3 model, I say the new one's the best one...Well, I don't know if this is the best one, but I can see me using this more than the others. At least to get playing down. I love, love, love the idea of being able to chart the song and then have a real player playing real sounding parts following the chart. That's gonna save me tooooons of time. There's also a "distance" feature that sounds like you're moving the B3 to the back of the room. Very cool. Really excited to use this.

Shh... Along with Drums and Slide Guitar (RIP Skydog)... B3 is among my usual fave 3 Instruments. Certainly Live. We have two Primo B3/Leslie setups in Laguna BTW. At Mozambique and Skyloft. Steve Wood (Honk) and Albert Margolis (formerly Meters) are two of its best players around Town. Chris

Any comparison to the IK B3, AcousticSamples B5 or GG Blue? After owning/using the IK for a year, I'm pretty much settled on it. (Also have the Arturia B3 & AIR B33.)

I seem to recall being able to use the Air B33 on an audio track too (even though it's an "instrument" plugin. I think if you open the "back panel" and disable the organ, you can use the cabinet - aka Leslie - on a guitar track or whatever. And maybe overdrive the "amp" part too. Been a few minutes since I tried it.

I only have the UAD Hammond. Have you compared against that?
I do like the usability of Ezkeys.

Just listening, it sounds more realistic to me. But a side by side is needed. I’ll probably end up using this more - especially if I can chart it, play something rudimentary and then have it pick out better playing for me…and the fact you can twist a knob and make it more and less complicated. That’s really huge at least for me. I can play the piano, but not like a professional player…so I’m hoping this will work as well as I think it can.

I’m not really tracking Blind Faith anytime soon, so they’re kinda just in the background.

So stop being a dick. I fully believe that we're at one point that if it's not your main instrument, if it's not essential to the majority of tracks you're recording, a VI of these instruments will be more than enough.

Add a tablespoon of oil every year. Done. It's insane that most of them are still purring along just fine at age 60-70 (production run started in 1954 I think). They are relatively inexpensive, too. $2000 maybe? How many computers with incompatible OS's and card slots will you have gone through in 70 years to keep your VI's running? But they are heavy, I'll give you that...

It’s just kind of weird to be so (seemingly) fixated on someone else buying an instrument that you like.

It’s just kind of weird to be so (seemingly) fixated on someone else buying an instrument that you like. It’s not just organs. It’s not even just instruments. It’s everything. I mean the site is called “Real Gear” right? Have we lost our way?

I named it on a lark 11 years ago…it would be different now most likely. Anyway, Real Gear was never intended to mean “more gear.” It kinda meant how do you find the gear that you can really trust.

I don’t advocate for “more gear”. I like less gear, but I like it “real”. But if fake instruments are now “real gear” then I should go read some Kafka. But I do love this forum and appreciate the wide range of opinions and perspectives, so I’ll chill and go play some drums…. ✌️

"more than enough" for what? Your soul? Why are we using *good enough* as a target for our art? Ai can do it *good enough*. . So stupid to compare VIs to AI. We really are at a point in Virtual Instruments that they can be used in any production without feeling fake or weird. Well, they are used in many many productions. Even orchestral songs that ends in big tv shows are using VIs. Musicians are also touring with their Nords or whatever other digital keyboard. Good enough is not about being mediocre, it's about knowing that it's a tool that will allow you to make your art.
