Well, sometime tomorrow afternoon, my new Strauss Monitors will arrive here at my new joint in Hartsville. Along with 4 people to carry them in and set them up. The big mastering monitors, as well as the mono block amps. straussnorthamerica.comThey are basically on loan till I see if I can get on with them. I'll post some pics, after they are in the room. Should be interesting.

Damn, that’s some serious monitor. I remember seeing a weird looking speaker in Eric Valentines home setup and started reading about them, was always curious to try out the smaller ones. Just WAY too much coin for me for a smaller 2 way system. I bet they’ll be amazing! What are you currently using?

At the moment, I check mixes on 4 sets...
#1 - ATC SCM25 #2 - KEF LS50 Anniversary Edition #3 - iLoud Micro Monitors #4 - Wilson Cubs
These will be used for mixing, as well as for the mastering clients I have.
Let's see what happens? Haha

Just from the pictures the horn and the LF look kind of generic but looks are also deceiving. A good compression driver with the right horn can give you an authority that’s hard to beat, while not the last word in detail you have that covered in spades.

Eric, and today I asked the $$$ question. Why are these damn things so expensive... (other than all the import fees, shipping, etc, etc, I'm waiting for a good answer) Further investigation will be needed, but in the meantime. They are here, and so the story starts here.

Ok, didn’t realize they were that big… That looks a bit bigger than ATC 150’s.

Actual size of the monitor is 47 inches tall. The boxes that hold the amplifiers, and sits below the actual speaker is 20 inches tall, so all together, an impressive 67 inches.
And 240 pounds each!

Haha... You guys are too funny...that movie clip (WIZ) is great!
Eric, I sold the Wilson Watt / Puppies during the last move, but still have the little Wilson Cubs from my apartment system.
Since the Strauss Monitors are 93db's efficient, (my Cubs are 94) and a very easy 8 ohm load, I'm thinking that for the less dynamic music I mix, and master, I'd like to try my Cary Signature 300B Single Ended Triode mono Blocs on these. They are only 8 watts, but what an amazing 8 watts! They are literally the greatest amps I ever had in any of my systems, and I had a lot over the years, Krell, Mark Levinson, Bryston, Perraux, SCS, Nad, Dynaco, Crown, and more I can't think of at the moment.
Well, a decent amount of testing / listening is ahead...

No real impressions as yet, literally just had music playing during the install to see if they worked?
Will start actually listening today.
I'm in TN. if anyone wants to stop by. 45 minutes, east of Nashville.
