They were cool but their website is broken. I cannot reset my password, log in, and download them. Their programmer, Ray Dratwa, moved onto his own company Fuse, and his collab with the ex Elysia guy and Roger Schultz, Neold, and Fuse models crazy stuff and Neold rare but more normal stuff.
I highly recommend the Fuse and Neold stuff for weird sounds and distortions. I cannot recommend the Black Lion because the website was down and VST3 isn’t there and VST2 is being killed off by Steinberg. That being said they sound good except for the 1176 and some of the post Ray stuff but some post Ray stuff is good. Their Altec thing is way less wtf than Radiator but Radiator is cool because it is so wtf.

There are some good ones including some of the post-Ray plugs, but I think a plugin company without a steady coder is problematic. Both Black Rooster and Kush aren’t good at keeping up with compatibility and bugs.
I stopped using their plugins because I need to re-authorize every time I open a session. It’s a Ventura bug they haven’t fixed.

I never try their Altec but I love the Soundtoys on poor recorded vocals, I would have to compare with their version. I bought their VTC-2 a while ago, I like it but I always forget I have it. And now that I have the Kiive KC-1, I don't think I'll use it anymore. They are not the same machines but I find that they have things in common and that the KC-1 works on everything and anything.

Well all plugs are $19. Do I really need a 33rd vari-mu plug?

I really like their VLA-2a Their 2a was the hot one for a little bit there. I went from that to Nebula, and these days it’s UAD. (I still have the N4 installed though…you never know.)

Brighton was my favorite LA-2A of all ITB - with either Nebula or the Aqua. But I've finally more or less had it with Acustica and all the rigamarole. The Black Rooster 2A is nice, esp since they added the second release time.
