Slightly OT. Anybody use/like the Fuser?
Cheers, Geoff

Tried it and bought it. Might just use it for client refs/when there's no mastering budget... but this is handy. Preset selection greatly changes how it reacts so thus far I've been auditioning different suggestions until I find one that still feels like my mix but tidied up down low. I tried one or two of the presets but they seemed a little whack…so I just pulled in one particular song that I think sounds really great on the low end (similar genre)…watched it set the targets, moved them to match and holy shit it was a revelation.

I actually forgot I had this... Slightly embarrassed. Will dust it off for some more testing thanks to this thread. Are you guys finding it useful with imported ref tracks, or are the built-in preset targets getting good translation and feelings? Thanks! I once posted a thread asking about a plug (Sonnox Inflator) that was on sale. If anyone had used it…was just about to buy press the buy button and noticed…I already owned it.

After listening to a few YouTube reviews, I'm going to get this - I like that it is dedicated to everything below 320hz. Most likely will experiment with bass eq, and try to replicate it with other software - or just use it if it is better. I can't see using it on the mix bus though - more individual buses like drums and bass - distorted electric guitars. I would prefer to not have it affect vocals (around 300hz) It’s designed for the mixbus I believe. It supposedly “listens” to the whole mix and targets how the human ear would perceive it…

At the end of the day it is just an eq for the very low end, with level and Q (and I am guessing there is some saturation going on under the hood too) I'm mostly interested in what it does on 180 and below, and wish we could move the EQ bands a little. What happens to 40 / 80 /160? these crossover frequencies are at points that I hope to adjust. Curious about using it together with Arbiter - that way I can get into bands outside of Bassroom with Arbiter, and have much more control, and make them work as a duo. Guessing it may reside on my bass bus (or maybe bus kick and bass together ? )

I used it today on a mix and really liked it. Used no presets - just adjusted some frequencies until it sounded good. Bigger tighter bottom end was the result.

I gotta stop buying gimmick plugs, man. (But I'm intrigued what it's doing..)
Honestly the biggest thing that's helped my low end is a judicious cut around 200hz in the bass and kick drum. Nothing there but weird bloom.

You can also adjust the q, I think. I remember a secondary co trol of some kind, I think using the scroll wheel. Maybe I have my mouse set up weird. Adjusting the Q was pretty much the only thing I could do! It's also possible that I was demo-ing this at like 4am, that's been known to happen. Soooo... yeah. Definitely a case of "couldn't figure out the Star Wars cockpit thing at 4am", let's just say it was a good thing I wasn't driving that night. Downloaded this again the interface is extremely easy. Haha. Actually the whole thing is really easy to use. Glad I gave it a second shot.

I've had both for a while now, I initially tested them in a mastering scenario, I was very surprised. They do something I wouldn't do without them, and fast once you get the feel of it.

Yeah - I've been blown away by this thing. I wouldn't mix without it now. The key IMO was finding a good reference song.

When I first saw it, I felt it was kind of a gimmick but you guys convinced me to have another look at it. It's also not all that expensive so I grabbed it. Now I just need some free time to learn it.
John, you should setup affiliate links with all the gear you talk about. Might be a way to help pay for your gear addiction. 😁

If it did, that would be a great way to support the site.

I'd probably start with someone like Sweetwater and ask about the affiliates program. I believe you have to show that you have a captive audience of gear junkies and then they can set you up. I don't know all the details but an awful lot of idiots on YouTube have done it so it can't be that hard. -)
