Hey good people! hope you are doing well I'm a big Acustica Audio Nebula fan. Still using it did lots of AB to find the best console and the AlexB MFC console (Neve 88rs) always wine on each track for summing. Some new Nebula libs from Timp, Cupwise and AlexB are really nice. AlexB just released a new sampling of the SSL EQ black and brown. People saying they sound really great. Curious to know if some of view still like and use Nebula in their mixing/mastering workflow and what librairies you still love? I started a youtube channel to compare of the Nebula programs with other plugins and Acustica Acqua stuff if you are curious. www.youtube.com/@honeyishrunkthebass/videosHave a nice day! cheers Patrick

The only thing I still use with any regularity is CupReels and Sooper Time Cube from Cupwise. And maybe Tim P's J37.
Beyond that I had quite a few Nebula libraries that I had bought over the years but none receive much if any use these days. Fuse and UAD have replaced the LA-2a, UAD has replaced the 1176, Slick EQ has replaced Alex B's 550, Reverberate 3 has replaced the reverbs, and so on.

I do - even though it is a frustrating exercise anytime I have to build out a new set up.
For instance, despite multiple exchanges with AITB support, I was never able to get their Rooms to work on my M3 MacBook Pro. I am able to use their other reverbs (140, BX20) which is great as those are two of my go to's.
I still prefer the Nebula programs (especially the Henry Olanga set) and verbs to the Acqua offerings, depite their improved ease of use and GUI. I tend to prefer the sound of the original for some reason. I was able to use Lemon for quite a while and loved the sound of those delays, but for some inexplicable reason it started to become problematic and overloading often. I guess that is a good summary of my Acqua experience - I will like something, it will work for a while, then it won't.
I am experimenting with recording through some Acqua offerings in lieu of my Apollo - I am getting good results with Navy for this so far.
I will check out your channel - thanks for sharing it - I am always hopeful I will better understand the system and be able to use it more effectively. I stared in 2011 and still often feel confounded. While I would normally have punted a long long time ago, but that is how much I like their reverbs.

Tim P's RA6 & Vari-Level are great colorful compressor options to have for vocals in particular. His Silk EQ 295b and Alex B's Gold Edition 295 EQs are the smoothest top end I've found in a plug in.
Cupreels AX102 is my favorite 2 buss tape if I'm not using Cranesong Phoenix there.
Having said that, there are many I've bought with high hopes that either the metering is so buggy they are unusable or they're too CPU hungry. It's amazing that all these years later Nebula and Acustica in general are still kind of a pain in the butt to use but sometimes the sound is worth it I guess.

Agree with some of the picks here: the J37 is pretty authentic if you’re after that specific sound, and the RA6 and Vari Level are great too.
Would love to try cupreels.

I use it on every mix. Alex B consoles, AX102, TimP RA6, his SSL comp, AITB Bricasti. The rest is Acustica. Some UA if I need it.

AX102 here too and Lemon (sampled delay units), which I wish I could replace with something else because of the CPU hog, the tiny interface, and the inscrutable preset names. But it sounds too good to let it go.
It's funny, it's easier to patch in a hardware unit than Acustica plugins. Less latency, too.

Re Nebula I use a lot of Max Pomonarov’s skins and they make the whole thing so much more accessible.

It's a rabbit hole I've chosen to avoid. ^ This. Also, this. I just can't with Acustica anymore. The whole experience with Acustica is just a turn off for me at this point, from the hassle of setting up and using Acustica plugins to the man-child CEO (Zaphod). I'm just kind of done. And it's not just Acustica. I'm just kind of trying to be done with ANY company where it's a hassle to use their products. I'm all about ease of use these days, and Acustica doesn't fit the bill.

I generally avoid developers that put gigabytes of garbage files in my system. I have tested their plugins and it was nothing special. Given the ethics of the developer, I am avoiding all Acustica Audio plugins.

I'm increasingly with you on this, Quint. There are a few Acustica or Nebula programs that I really like, but they are usually a pain to use in one way or another, and just in general they don't inspire confidence that they're going to always work correctly. I still love some of TimP's Nebula programs, and Cream still sounds really nice to me, as does Gold and Pink, but the whole experience has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for awhile now. It's been a few weeks/months since I last instantiated any of them.
