I have replaced oxidised, corroded or burnt wall sockets because they were oxidised, corroded or burnt. I’ve never replaced a wall socket because it narrowed the sound stage, upset the rhythm and pace of a tympani or caused a glockenspiel to get lost in the sax solo.
