I've been looking around too. Not much news or reviews, and no good audio examples so far. Just a few brief clips from the introduction promo video.
They've been out a while and there was a B-stock unit available on their site recently. Great price if the sound is right!

No help here unfortunately, and I’ll likely never buy one, but damn, just gotta say it would look sweet in my rack…what a badass looking piece of kit!

Yea it definitely delivers in the looks department! I keep imagining how one would look along with my V-COMP+, RS-124, and WT-Comp as the base of my vari-mu tower.
I wonder how many they've sold so far...

It’s wildly low priced for what they’ve produced mechanically.

Very interesting device! I wish I could get some more info. That MDN video, although short, did show some compelling examples. I've always wanted a Federal, Gates or RCA. I realize they are different, but I want at least one to explore the vintage vibe. My Coil CA70S and CA286S have got me craving more of that juice.

If you have a Coil CA-70 I can highly recommend a Retro STA Level. The Coil is essentially a Gates SA-70 tube pre and the Retro a Gates STA Level. The two are like a hand to the matching glove. The result is THE smoothest signal path ever! I run a Wunder CM7 (U47) > CA-70 > Retro STA Level > HEDD 192 (touch of Tape knob) and it's a crazy smooooth vocal - really musical and appealing

Yes I've been yearning for the Retro STA level for about a year and a half, and that lust reached a fever pitch when I acquired the CA-70S. I've watched demos and videos on the Retro device, even some comparisons to the original and it sounds fantastic. Even though it's not an apples to apples comparison of the Retro to the ASA-6A, they are the same price point so I could get either one. Having said that, I just purchased the V-Comp+ after a ton of deliberation, so at least for my purpose now I will have the STA Level covered. It won't be the Retro, but I've been really digging the examples of the V-Comp I've heard and like the features relative to the Retro unit. I'm keen to hear how the V-Comp+ sounds with my CA70S. :-) With a V-Comp+ on the way, I don't want to duplicate devices and get the Retro also, so I'm looking to the ASA-6A as a complimentary and different vintage-style limiter/compressor. BTW- that sounds like an absolutely delicious signal chain you have there. I'll bet that HEDD really adds a touch of polish!

Well…
Sta is a low ratio compressor with slow attack time
6a is a high ratio limiter with fast attack time

Checkout Johnkenn’s response on the VComp thread…he has both and says the AS is very very (98%) close to the Retro STA. I’m sure you’ll be happy with it…heard nothing but great things, and congrats! No need for the 6A, get an RS660! I’m hoping if I suggest it enough, Chandler will give me a free one

I read the whole thing. @johnkenn appetite for those devices is admirable! :-) Here in this thread I was asking about the ASA-6A, and I should clarify that I wanted to know how folks used it and what spectrum of sounds were they getting from it. I did consider the RS660, and I still want to get one someday. Chandler makes great gear. I really like the Germ Comp. Well… Sta is a low ratio compressor with slow attack time 6a is a high ratio limiter with fast attack time Cool, thank you... That was my general understanding. I wasn't really looking for STA vs BA-6A comparison, just mostly wanted to hear any experiences and sounds folks might be getting from the ASA-6A.
