I’m excited to pick this up because I mostly use my V-Comp in mixing, and this will give me a quick approximation during rough mixes. I’m over emulation plugins, except for hardware I own

Great, if you got the budget ! Well that is true. But these days I'd rather save up and buy one AS hardware piece that will have a BIG impact on tracking and mixing than another handful of plugins. That's just my current view of it all. I've wasted far too much money on plugins, that never quite deliver for me. Though to be fair I have been impressed with some of the recent UAD offerings, specifically the Hitsville ones so hey, I just contradicted myself I'd love to have the budget for more AS hardware - that AS 1178 looks to be superb!!

Wow...been demoing this for the last two hours...and this thing is really, really good. Like better than some other shit. I hear more saturation in this one than the Arturia...and love the ability to change the THD. There might be something buggish in the behavior on the V+ side's "Single" attack. If you try single on the vint, then switch to the V+, there's much less gain reduction. Plugins are getting to the point where it's hard to tell IMO.

I think all the latest plugins developed by Kiive are excellent. I love the KC-1! Same for the Nfuse.

I’ve got a license but don’t have it loaded. I prefer it to the Neold U2A and I like that one a lot. Tried it against Acustics Midnight, U2A, Arturia Sta and Magic Death Eye. I liked it and the MDE the best. It also compares really, really well with the Stam 660

From Klive
update 1.0.3 can be downloaded through the plugin settings menu now or through our stores within the next hour - Fixed Oversampling on 8X and 16X - Added in new presets - Added gain compensation to "drive" switch
were also looking into the link and unlink for the different vcomp modes for a future update

There’s a bug in single mode with drive on. Meter shows a ton more compression on the vint one

MJUC is cool. Kiive is like having a hot rod mod of it.

Ohhh, interested! Anyone have thoughts on this vs MJUC? I always forget to demo that one. It’s so cheap, I’d just get it! . imho the MJUC is a pretty sweet plug…love it on 1 in limit with roughly 1db gr on lead vox (of course with other comps on channel as well)…its got a sweet sound.

This weekend I hope!

MJUC is cool. Kiive is like having a hot rod mod of it. There are 3 modes in the MJUC, but just 2 with the AS I always forget to demo that one. It’s so cheap, I’d just get it! . imho the MJUC is a pretty sweet plug…love it on 1 in limit with roughly 1db gr on lead vox (of course with other comps on channel as well)…its got a sweet sound. I probably should!

MJUC is the developer’s own take on a Fairchild, Retro 176, and what the developer wished a modern varimu would be. It’s a classic and often the first paid plugin younger people buy. klanghelm.com/contents/products/MJUC#tab-2
