Does anyone else find it funny that lots of companies that don’t brand themselves as using overseas design/engineering will all suddenly have the same products out (like an 1178)? 🤔
Or suddenly everyone has a 33609. Or a CL1b. Or a C800 clone. Or whatever.

And when there are, they usually are too expensive for the small guy operation. Whitestone p331 for instance. Just about everything is based off of something else back in the day. It's a Clone eat Clone world out there lol

Once something is designed/built there, it will go out the door under any brand name where someone can meet the minimum order quantity.

Who else had a 250 clone and 1178 made in china? Audioscape and Stam aren't. Was there another 1178 release? (which it's like wow there were no 1178s and now so many)

If you don’t like DIY or prefer your Graphics to have sliders the 560 is pretty cheap!

It's a Clone eat Clone world out there lol Most of the innovative electronics engineers and software developers left the pro audio game a while ago. There are a ton of weird little 500 series modules that people aren’t buying. For rack, you could easily buy an ART, FMR, or Drawmer piece that does a lot. They don’t need a ton of expensive parts to sound good and work properly. People just want to conform and want a deal. That a modern unit based on a 10-20 dollar that analog engine IC can outperform their magic special unobtainium stuff hand soldered point to point with love isn’t what someone wants to hear. Or that digital multiplication doesn’t distort unlike various variable resistor and vcas 😎
