I finally bought Symphony for $19 a couple days ago as a backup for when/if R4 ever stops working in Windows. I was surprised to discover that it has all the same presets as far as names and overall settings go but it doesn’t have the same early reflection patterns/settings as the R4/Nimbus line, which means that in theory the presets aren’t going to match 1:1 sound wise with the previous generation. For example, the “Vintage” ER pattern in R4 doesn’t seem to have an equivalent in Symphony.
if you’re using it from scratch it I’m guessing shouldn’t make a difference, just something to note if one ever plans on dropping the current line in to replace an instance of the originals. I would ask Michael more about it but he’s not around anymore.

Just to follow up/confirm, I put "Randy's Vintage Hall" on a vocal using R4 and Symphony respectively, and it indeed was not a 1:1 match.
Symphony was the more dense/heavy of the two, depending on your preference. I felt like R4 was more manageable without EQ or additional processing. I switched Symphony to "sparse" mode and I could get the two closer, but still not 1:1.
