Wow I payed $50 for just one of these plugins. This is a huge bargain. There are some crazy bargain basement offers around at the moment. Are the software developers in a bit of trouble? Have we all reached plugin saturation point? I'm tempted but it will be yet more doubling up on plugins I already have. But if I was just starting out as a teen - I'd buy this a Mac Book Pro 4, a DAW and be set for a very long time

yeah, bought it yesterday. cheeeeaaap. i mainly bought it because of the space delay. been trying out the tapes today and they do something good, although i have to test on more songs. there‘s A LOT of plugins! don‘t know when i will have to time to test them all.

That is a crazy deal. I technically have licenses for some of the IK stuff. They did one of these 'group buy' things over like 2 weeks and the more people who bought in the more plugins you would end up with. And that was a good deal, but this is nuts.
I didn't install the IK stuff when I upgraded to the Mac Studio, partially because their system is so clunky, how you have to put everything on your computer. Even when I moved things out to an "unused plugin" folder then names were always on the pull down and shit just got in the way. That was before insert search in Pro Tools (or before I knew how to turn it on?).
I really liked their EQP1A and the de-esser. The Sontek was cool, but I didn't use it much. The 33609 was decent, but the McDSP 2254 sounds better (though no limiter stage) and there was some sort of delay compensation issue using it in parallel. I can't remember which others I had.
The rooms in this group are really attractive. Sunset is one of those "dream" places to work, so that would be cool, probably.
I agree @thehightennor starting out and spending $50 for all that would be a great way to get moving. If I had a kid or student wanting to put a rig together, I'd recommend this.

I have a few of those already but always forget to use them - except for the reverbs. I've owned those for a long time and still use one occasionally (one of the plates mostly). it does seem like a good deal for all of that for $50, but I have so many plugins I already don't use (or forget I have).

Man. I know. I really don’t need another tape sim, Fairchild or 33609…

Exactly. I haven't even played with Morphverb that I bought on your suggestion, and 'cause it was $10. If I can't mix a record with the 585 plugins I have...

That's a lot of plugs. That I already have lots of versions of. But I'm a terrible sucker for cheap DSP so my brain still considers it. But then I remember what it was like the last time I tried to demo something from IK Multimedia...

Thanks for the tip…seems like a killer deal after reading the info! I’ve heard the name in passing but never tried them. Are they pretty good? Less than a dollar a plug, crazy! I’m sure at 53 I’ll find something I like…also like the rack idea they use like Soundtoys…and lots of cool tape options, I think that alone sold me. Love to hear how y’all feel about these compared to the usual suspects.

Funny reading all these shared sentiments. I bought into the IK group buy a few years back with a bunch of you gents. I still don’t use half the stuff I bought then. But when I saw this, I’m like “dag!” I had to stop myself. Such a great deal, even having to deal with the pain that is the IK installer. But, 50 bucks is 50 bucks. I’ll mark myself safe from this deal.

Sunset Sound reverb and the Fame verb are worth the price of this alone... I got some guitar tracks a while back cut in Sunset and the engineer Nate Haessly included the Chamber mics in the files. Sounded great so I wanted to put other guitars in that same space and it was easy to match up and sounded identical. I've been using the room1 and 2 verbs for B3 here lately, spreads out the close mics and is lovely.

I got it in a Total Studio crossgrade last year and I think I have everything except The Farm. For $50 it's worth it for the studio reverbs alone, not to mention other gems like Stealth Limiter and Mic Room.

I dunno--I like IK's stuff. It's not really my "go to" for everything...for two reasons--they're huge CPU sucks relative to other analog emulations of the same gear--that even if they "only" sound 98% as good...at .5% CPU vs 5% is significant in a mix. And then years ago, I lost some important recalls because when they changed over to Custom Shop from individual installs, it screwed the recall on a bunch of their plug ins. I lost an afternoon trying to figure out why my recalls sounded like the originals but...NOT...it's that the IK plugs inserted were still there and active, but had like reset settings to 0db or defaults or something...literally never had that with another manufacturer.
Anyway--the exception, is that I love the M/S capable Pultec. There's something euphonic about that the other emulations don't quite get there...plus M/S...means I can use it to band aid 44.1 tracks on the master bus.
Didn't I see Amplitube5Max going for $75 or something recently? That's the version with EVERYTHING...every add on...ever pedal...TriChorus...both Ampeg packs...
I don't know what's up in IK Land. They apparently need to grow userbase badly.

So if its Version 2 do you have to own version 1 for this purchase to work?

I have a bug report that I send every year with one of their tape plugins. Still not fixed after 5 years.

I have a bug report that I send every year with one of their tape plugins. Still not fixed after 5 years. i was reading up the ik tapes thread over at the purple side and its full of bug reports. did they not fix them? i tested the tapes and in logic they show like 3ms delay but after bypassing and turning the plugins on again they show like 600ms … and i barely hear transient smoothing …
