Anyone own one of these, or maybe they are not out yet? stamaudio.com/shop/compressors/sa-23a/I saw a few of you got the SA23A+ a few years back, but those appear to be EOL. Seems like this might be worth the extra $ to get 2 in 1?

If they were in Stock I would buy one straight away as they look awesome for tracking vocals or bass etc. I just can’t play the waiting game. I just got the new Stereo Pultec with SS or tubes and it sounds terrific. Josh has great ears and updates Classic designs brilliantly. The 609 and the 1178 are both awesome too. In fact maybe it’s a good thing waiting as I would run out of rackspace buying 2 of everything.

Hey Paul, not to get too sidetracked but I've been saving up for a pair of Pulse Techniques Pultecs, any chance you have experience with those compared the the Stam? Thanks.

Same..... I have a SA23+, and think the sonic quality of the Stam 2A & 3A modes for that price is totally worth it.

I have one of the first SA2a's (sorry for the possessive comma to separate the s from the name and indicate plurality, but what else does one do?) and it lives on bass these days, after I got a faster T4 from Bill at Kenetek. The original is beautiful, but the faster one just makes the unit sing! The 2a/3a design is great. I posted the idea on GS back in 2008 and was met with laughter and ridicule from many gear snobs, all but Josh stam, who took it seriously and brought the idea of using daughter boards and having a multiple version of a design available in one unit. I think that is fantastic! I have original LA2 3 and 4 units and they are all slightly different, and I love them all. It's funny how I started with the LA4 on bass, then went to an LA3a then finally to the SA2a (a brief detour through one of my LA2a's) and having all 3 in one unit, being able to flip back and forth without re-patching is a dream come true. Even between the 2 and 3!
