Does anyone here have experience with repairing corrupt aif/wave files ?
I"m digging through my old digi 001 mac demos (2008 era ) and found a great pop tune that has one file unreadable by pro tools . Unfortunately its the first section of the lead vocal .
I was able to do the audacity Raw data trick to actually see the wave form info but it is all hiss . A step further with Soundhack got half of it working ( albeit somewhat noisy ) . Not sure if I have done things properly or the file too messed up to rescue . Any services out there who specialize in this ? Id gladly go that route
Thanks

If you could upload it somewhere (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.), there are a few of us who could give it a shot. I'm pretty busy the next couple days, but I could run a quick First Aid on it.

This may sound insaneā¦.
Try to import the file into iTunes. If you have an old Mac in a closet Somewhere this is the time to turn it on.
Import to iTunes, then go to the directory and change it to a .wav file. Then export the file to your desktop and see if you can get it to load into PT.
I found that hack years ago when I had corrupt files and it for some reason worked. This is going back like 8 years or so but it was a similar situation with files that were tracked on ancient digi hardware.
