Lots of great suggestions here. I'm in full agreement on the worth of the Roland SRV-330. They're really hard to beat for around $250 ish. I'm using it tonight on a snare track. Lots of great programs and tons of fun to experiment with. If you're looking for a reasonable way to find out why a lot of us think outboard verbs often sound more musical the SRV-330 is a good place to start.

A box that I have not used in about 35 years but I keep looking at, the Ibanez Harmony Processor, I don’t want Eventide to sue me so I won’t use that copyrighted H word.

I also liked the Sony R7 a lot. I wouldn’t call it the most creative box but it was very vivid and solid sounding.
Otherwise at this price point, another vote for the OTO BAM. I love OTO stuff. Just really fun, simple to dial in and creative.
There are some weird ones, like the ART 01A, which is not exactly good but has some crazy presets that are great for abstract stunts here and there.

I also have the SDE-330, really cool units!

Another vote: OTO Bam (and Bim delay) got a lot more use when I took it out of my pedal island and put right on the desk. It's easier to remember the odd UI when you use it all the time. Defintely fun to use and great sounding.
