I had a returning artist I was working with and she had a new co-writer (from Soundbetter). So, I gotta be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. But I could tell this guy was talented. He sent like 20 harms lol…(overachiever, huh?) but they were all good and I dug his voice.
He asked to come by the session which immediately made me nervous…nothing better than a panicky writer that thinks they know-it-all at a session (sarcasm). It can just be a huge disaster if they (anyone) don’t understand the pace and start trying to produce the song and give the players mixed messages etc. This guy ended up canceling at the last minute, so everything went smoothly.
Then I’m perusing Sweetwater and land on a new JHS Leslie pedal…and lo and behold. There was this. Chris Cron was the guy. I emailed him and basically said you-held-out-on-me-you-cheeky-bastard…so I hope he doesn’t think I was a dick and emails back…

Funny. I was hanging out with the "Real Rhonda" tonight... (That Al Jardine had the teenage crush on) She was about 16 when that song came out. IMHO it was a partial influence why Al got to sing the Lead! Chris

Great sales pitch for JHS pedals too! Man, I want all those units now. And I have about 100+ pedals already
