When he moved to UA it was a long wait until the first mic was released.

Not sure he had much if anything to do with this round. They seem to be referencing years ago and “future” at this point to get his name associated. |

I never owned an ADK mic but have had my finger on the mouse with it in my cart a few times…it’s a sickness, I swear! I am a big Dave fan here, love the Soundelux and Bock mics, amazing stuff! Keeps my studio going once they hear it!

This is cool. ADK makes very good mics in their own right and Larry strikes me as a knowledgeable guy. Could be a cool collaboration.

Wonder what the Bock changes are? "Manufactured in the USA"...the capsules too? Does manufactured mean more than assembled here? Just thinking out loud.

When I owned the Z-251 I got it directly from Larry for $1,800-ish. It was an anniversary sale, and a great value for that price. Then they came out with an upgraded version that had an improved power supply and a US made body. No mic internals changed. That took the price up to somewhere between $3K-$3.5K MSRP. I really like their mics, but that was getting up there for the ADK capsules with their standard internal tweaks to tune to different flavors. For $4K something hopefully rather major has changed to justify that amount…like a new capsule and some Bock tweaks/components. As I said, I like ADK, but when they hit the $3K-$4K range there’s a number of great mics they’re now competing with. For me something needs to justify that both in build and sonics beyond what they’ve traditionally been.
