The RE50 is sort of the more expensive version, but seams to go for less used. It’s supposed to have less handling noise but come on it’s an Omni, it’s the nature of the beast! Personally I always preferred 635a’s for the smaller size and slightly more natural tone, 50’s always sound like interview mics. Every mic kit should have at least one dynamic Omni. But does a dynamic omni truly exist? Aren't we talking oblong wide cardioids here? Pressure omni is pressure omni, capsule and body size are the modifiers, so a 635A will be more omni than the rare pressure omni LDC, and something like a DPA 4060 will be the most omni.

Don't they sometimes use double wide oblong mics... For movie trailers? Chris

Great show! I decided to use my EV635a, for my "one minute"/Johnny Cash Verse. Partly in honor of its use in his TV Show. And also "Various and Sundry" 60's/70' TV broadcasts. It's a Cover of "Highwayman". Then my BU67 and/or BZ "Elly" on a later full version of the whole song. Probably in a deeper Key, to experiment with. Chris

You can also use a pair as overheads if you have a good sounding room tone and use the cardioid sdc pair to spot mic the cymbals. Used a pair once as overheads for a mallet/tom-heavy drum part and it was kind of perfect.

Any else expecting Warm's next mic to be a WA635? I was pretty surprised they cloned the D19, so it's possible.
