So I have the Bettermaker SPE and just ordered the Lintec should be here by Friday. If it comes close .. $1000 vs $400 per channel will be a no brainer for me. The Bettermaker is a beautiful sounding unit but in my very humble experience every now and then I get pleasantly surprised with very affordable gear. Just wished the Bettermaker was not fixed stereo. I am considering their mastering eq but am not a fan of touch screens wish it had more physical controls ( but that I am realizing that the screen shouldn’t be a big deal)
Anyone else have the lintec on order ?

No but I'm very curious... Ive have good luck with 19" Lindell stuff in the past (17xs and 18xs specifically) The Lindell 500 series has never enticed me for whatever reason though.

That's encouraging to hear re: the 19" Lindell stuff. I listened to various demos and comparisons between their Lin2A other la2a's it wasn't exactly the same but pleasing and very "la2a'ish" if that's even a thing 😂

Its one of those things where some folks get hung up on 'this isn't even close to my LA-2A that came out of Capitol that Jim Williams refurbished and Glyn Johns kissed'... Yeah obviously. But is it an affordable and good sounding tool that sounds better than it should for the price, comparable to tools we had even 15 years ago? Yes.

"Glyn Johns kissed " took me out !🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Well the Lintec is going back not because I didn't like it ... I actually did and for the price really good unit. Pretty sturdy and heavy, must be a serious transformer and power supply in there. knobs =were solid and detented ( nice touch) It wasn't a bad unit and honestly Lindell could probably charge $600-$700 per unit. Low end was there but the bettermaker low end was smooth and tighter. The difference there was very apparent to my non -golden ears. Now I will say the the high end was very appealing, it had very pleasing sizzle/crispness to it I know that these descriptions are all subjective and wish I could articulate a bit better. The Lintec is solid, I know in the hands of a skilled engineer the lintec is a very capable pultec clone. @800/pair not the worst thing in the world and actually are pretty damn good. If I had extra cash I would have no problem running some synths through them or bass for a touch of added "weight". My biggest issue is now having to decide if I can live with Bettermaker being fixed stereo other options would be the Wes Audio Prometheus, The Bettermaker Mastering EQ additional $2000 ! or maybe an API 5500 not Pultec I know but from the demos I heard it seems to be in that ballpark sonically.
