Been waiting for this but now with new monitors, it has to take a back seat. Bummer. Looks and sounds great from the video.

Nice. Curious if it's any different than my SA3As.

Definitely, fitted better in mix and more consistent tone. Nice, someone’s selling a pair of originals here, wants $10 grand cdn!

So when do those of us who have the originals start the the "doesn't have the magic of the original" campaign?

I was a longtime owner of some vintage Teletronix 3As. Tried the D3As years ago, and I bought them the second I heard them, sold my vintage 3As for a LOOOOOOOT more than I paid for them, and haven't looked back.
Chris told me at one point these new DA3As would have the same guts as my current A-S D3As, though that was a while back when they first announced a teaser for these new things. If these new things manage to improve on the original D3As, that's really saying something cuz they absolutely NAILED those things IMO

The D3As don't have a selection for 30/50db like the OG units, but they are built with the 'clearmountain' low noise mod as stock. FWIW, if I had to guess, I'd suspect the input on a D3A is padded to be akin to the 50db switch engaged, based on where the gain and comp knobs seem to end up most on my AudioScapes vs. where they would typically end up on a vintage unit set 'flat'. But I could be totally wrong; just assuming here that the knobs would position themselves similarly from vintage to AS unit.

Audioscape posted this on RGO about a couple years ago: "The DA-3A is sonically the same as the D3A, but in the classic casing that everyone loves."
I wonder if this is still accurate as some time has passed and maybe Audioscape did some enhancements?

Me too! I have a pair of Stam's first run, but the mods are all on the back of the units... Not cool...
