i am demoing it right now. its on sale for 199€. i love the presets, quick and creative way that lead to inspiring sounds. i do crunchy rocky lofi stuff, so it would fit like a glove. but … most plugins are old and i am thinking maybe i could just buy a few separately. but … i already have sound-a-likes.
… so is it really worth to invest 199€ into presets and speed? because to be honest, i can get pretty close with the plugins i already have. but yeah, it takes longer and some of the presets are really inspiring in effect rack.
how low did effect racks go on sale in the past? or is someone selling their license for much cheaper?

For me, speed and inspiration are worth a lot.
I've had all the Soundtoys plugs for years. They're good but sometimes they don't get used in a mix at all. But if they help keep you in the creative zone and prevent you wasting time getting somewhere (even if it sounds slightly better), that's a win in my book.
I honesty can't comment on the price though. Been a long time since I've looked at their prices and when I got it it was an update after getting several single plugs.

Time is money, as they say. Old or not, the SoundToys stuff still sounds great. The FX rack is a very cool concept, and quite useful. I also got the full bundle as an upgrade because I had some of their free plugins, so if you have anything from them, the price might be even cheaper.

I agree about inspiration, there is value there. I was looking at the rack when I was looking at Soundtoys and ended up going with the full version. There was a limitation about the rack where you can't use the plugins individually, as single plugins, outside the "rack" as a whole. Maybe thats an issue, maybe not. For me it was.
I bought the full version on sale for $229 about a year ago but that seems to have gone up by $50 now to $279. I don't think the rack or the full version are going to be cheaper than they are now. Prices are consistent across resellers or they probably risk losing their right to sell them. Maybe buy from place you have a credit or some other form of discount that could work?

I have SoundToys 5 - bought it back in 2016 (as an upgrade). Then when SuperPlate came out I had to pay for that upgrade (although it seems to be included in ST5 if you buy it now?). confusing... but I do like superplate and it was only $29. But I worry about Soundtoys because it seems like they are not actively developing much of anything. Littleplate and Superplate are really the only thing I can remember since I bought the 5 bundle back in 2016. So while I do use the Soundtoys plugins regularly, I keep wondering when they will just disappear - not saying they will, it just seems like they are fading out? Lots of sales going on, but never anything new.

yeah true. not much news thats whats keeping me from investing into them. maybe i will, lets see how demo period goes. but than again, what is new? copying another rare obscure HW? was never soundtoys thing primarely. the market is really saturated. the do plugin mantainance, adapting to new apple os. so should be safe for another few years.

I've applied and gotten the auto email of receipt of application and never heard a single word otherwise.
