What do you guys find yourself using to recreate the room tracks if what you got wasn't all that great?
I'm kind of liking the Realverb "Subtle Ambience" from UAD, I think it's the free one you get with it too. But, I am curious of what everyone else uses to get a really realistic sounding drum room.
I usually always put a plate on the snare as well.
Just wanted to get an idea of what some people use, see if there was somethings I havn't though of, or need to know of.

wood room in the v-verb is pretty cool on drums. there is a thickness to the sound of the v-verb that I don't find excessively appealing but on drums it's pretty sweet.

Jazz room on ver. 2.0 in the Bricasti M7, lushous. I find that box does rooms better than most rooms do rooms.

I've used a Bricasti a couple of times...and really liked the "Wait's Room" preset...I even like it with the Altiverb plug too.

I have yet to hear something from the Bricasti I don't like! My best freind keeps telling me to sell all my Verbs and delays and just buy a Bricasti !

I use the Bricasti Impulses in IR1.... not too bad in that plugin either. I like Small Wooden Room in for drums on that one too. I'm going to get one of those damn things some day. Sadly the hardware is much better sounding than the impulses (duh) but I do have to say that the impulses do sound really good as well!

Speaking of verbs that just absolutely work...the UAD EMT 140 is on every vocal I've recorded lately. Plate of beef and you're done.

I'm using various rooms from my Lexicon 300. I also like the vintage plates from the Lexicon plug-in. I'm very curious to check the UAD Ocean Way plug-in though. I haven't done it yet for fear of liking it too much. I can't really afford to spend the money right now...

I've got the Ocean Way plug. At first I wasn't really clicking with it. But the more time I spend with it, the more I can't be without it. Fantastic plug.

I have yet to hear something from the Bricasti I don't like! My best freind keeps telling me to sell all my Verbs and delays and just buy a Bricasti ! I have a Bricasti and am not sold on its value for what you pay. Yes, it's a great reverb. However, it is very difficult to gauge how bouncing different reverbs will sound/gel together once you bounce. So, I rarely do it. Besides, it takes time to bounce in real time. I mostly use a room setting on the Bricasti or a plate, but I sometimes wonder if I'd be better off selling the Bricasti, buying the best software reverbs, and using the money left over for the myriad other needs I have.

Over the years , and this probably comes from the fact when I started there was usually just a "reverb" I tend to use a single program so it gels. But you are keeping my Bricasti lust in check Well for now!

I use Exponential Audio Phoenix quite a bit for drums.
I usually just toggle through the room presets until one sits and then tweak to taste.
