I'm looking to get a pair of Pultec style EQ's in 500 series. The JLM PEQ500A's look very interesting and I may even go the DIY route as the price is really a steal. Primary use would probably be on Bass, Kick, and Vocals.
Anyone own or have any experience with these units? How do they compare to the Pultecs EQP-500X or other clone options? Would love to get some feedback.
Thanks

JLM stuff is pretty good, i have a few of his boxes but no PEQ500A. Don't be put off by the comparatively low price. Joe Malone is one of the guys who have a deep understanding of electronics.

Man, I want one. Joe helped me with a racking project (I used his kits). What a great guy. I have no doubt all his stuff is solid based on his rep.
