Anyone here have any experience with their stuff? I just took a chance on their 251 clone with all the upgrades. Cinemag transformer, nos tube, wet tantalum capacitor. Sound samples of the stock one I could find online sounded very good. Samples of a modded c12 vs their stock were also really good compared to the usual cheaper clone stuff like Warm and Avantone. I know they’re a house brand of JRR shop. Price was really excellent compared to other clones as well. Always wanted something in the 251 family, so we’ll see how this goes!

Did you get any other mods or just stock with the upgraded capsule? It might have a cinemag transformer? I’m not sure, but the ct12 is really smooth. Probably too nice for someone like me to own. I thought they always have capsule upgrade options both on reverb and their own website. |

That option wasn't available when I ordered. Probably would have skipped on that anyway. Kind of defeats the purpose of a budget mic. Figure if it is good as is, then great! If I feel like it can be taken further, I can change the capsule. Maybe a Beesneez or something.

You’ll have to try it yourself, but I have no regrets of opting for the ct12 installed especially for the price and considering how hard those capsules are to get right now. Really phenomenal sounding I think I’ve seen some vanguard V13 with beesneez c12 offered through audioscape. It’s more expensive, but I imagine that would be a nice sound as well. |

Mic is awesome. Sounds really beautiful on acoustic guitar. Really great on my voice as well, which says a lot because usually the cheaper c12/251 mics sound kind of spikey on me. Can’t wait to try it on a female voice. I’m really curious how a nice custom ck12 capsule would sound on it, but so far it’s a very usable musical sounding mic.
