With it being the anniversary, maybe folks can (or can't  ) share how you found RGO. I myself saw on my Facebook feed a link to a thread from jsteiger Congrats Johnkenn and thanks again for having a forum of Allstars of the pro audio community  |

I was doing a Google search for some piece of gear and this site popped up so I checked it out. I started going through the posts and saw some guys from the other site who I really respected. Real glad I found it, the people and content on RGO are great. Lots of generosity with knowledge sharing around here. Here's to next year!

I remember the day JK got unceremoniously tossed out of purple, starting threads on it over there and arguing with mods about it... and then I started searching for John to express my appreciation of some of his posts and our commonality of opinion on many topics took over and thus I got in here pretty early. Then I may have mentioned it to a few others. |

There was a Miktec C5 thread where Johnkenn posted an acoustic sample and I thought it "sounded like a record", as they say. After hearing that post, I knew that he was a great resource, even if I'm not a country guy.  |

I guess i got here due to facebook contacts from old GDIY fellow members...but honestly - i don't know it for sure anymore...
I didn't care about the purple site anymore for a longer time and instantly thought - yeah, new forum, new opportunities to make things better.
And really - so much more politeness, respect and less BS around here, very appreciated.

II appreciate you guys being here! See if you can round up more! Tell your friends! I've only had to boot two people ( drbill is still here and welcome to post if he wants) but I feel like we've maintained a sense of decorum. I still pay more money to run this site than any of the adspace brings in. My rates are ridiculously cheap...you have to be to attract people to a startup...but then it costs money with more traffic, but the advertisers want to see traffic...you see the conundrum. So - more members is the way to success. |

I was reading on Gearslutz about Johnkenn's being demoted to the minors, and it mentioned that he started his own forum. Junior was kind enough to let me know where it was via a private message one year ago today. Thank you Junior! And thank you John!

I actually don't specifically remember how I discovered RGO (probably from the Purple site), but I am proud to be a Mod and user #11.

I was looking for a Card for my PCM 80 and it brought me to this new place, lurked a bit Saw JK Tony and Stieger were here.
Spent an hour mad that nobody invited me, Then said what the hell Ill crash the party!

I wondered what happened to JohnKenn on the Purple place. I'd had a PM conversation with him there about country songwriting, having liked a song of his he posted as an audio example. I missed the rumpus that got him banned, I wasn't paying attention to GS for a while. So I went looking for him. I like it here, that there's not too many people, I understand John's need for traffic though.

Jeff invited me over when I bought my pair of vp28's. Which was great cause I only spent time on on the acoustics forum at that other place. Tired of all the GSBS.
