FIXED - See a few posts down. My one week old AUDIOSCAPE 260 vU has lost the left side VU meter, and lost the Threshold and Compressor function. Not dead, but certainly unwell.
Just happened in the middle of a mixing session. Hasn't been moved from the rack since I got it.
The left side output still works.
I have an email into Audioscape. I have been using it daily since day one. It's a really really great comp for what it is. But not today I hope it is an anomaly. I have never had any issue with their builds before.

Sucks. They are a great company. I'm sure they will take care of it ASAP. Good luck!

I find it odd to have posted a thread about this even at all. Just send them an email. They will fix it. You don't need to hang dirty laundry out in public to apply pressure on them to fix it. They just will fix it.
Reach out to them first, always.

I have no concerns that this will be managed. I am a long time fan and multi-purchase customer of Audioscape as are many here on the forum.
This is simply sharing the woes of a brand new piece of gear going down during a session. It's a forum of peers and that is something that can be related to. And on the off-chance that there is a VU issue wth the new 260s, others may have experience as well. It is new product for them.

Nah, IMO a true helpful PSA of this situation would have been: -Gear malfunctions -You contact manufacture -Get any insight into a bad batch, or easy fix, or QC issue, or just needs a straight up repair -Then you come and share your experience and let others know it might be an issue. But maybe that's just me.

But in the end I don't care a bit about it, I am no stranger to the forum culture and I really dig Audioscape. Zack just gave me the OK to open it up. I'll pop it on the bench and take a peek.
I'll report back.

I recently had a meter issue on a 76D and they had it fixed and back to me incredibly quickly. They also matched it to another 76D that I bought while this one was at their facility (they offered this this, I didn't even inquire) Seriously amazing customer service with Audioscape. Will absolutely be buying more of their gear in the future.

Was an easy fix here
Zack said it sounded like a loose transistor. So I popped it up open. They all seemed fine visually, but I reseated the two on the left side and that was it.
10 minute fix. Back in the groove- great outcome.

AS is a solid company and it’ll get you sorted. They buy quality parts for their builds but bad parts can always slip through manufacturer’s qc, cold solders happen and failures can happen after burn in: that’s what warranties are for. Keep calm and record on !

One of the initial reasons I started this board was to have a place to talk to manufacturers when you have questions or issues. Everyone has parts that fail or this or that...it's the response to that that makes the difference. Emailing them should be the first step, but sometimes, it gets lost in the shuffle...and this is an appropriate place to voice that with the proper respect. I actually had an AS 1178 that had some issue with the right side...so they replaced it. Quick and easy. (But haven't been able to try this one since my Apollo hasn't come back from getting modded.)

Hmm, I always thought those wacky AS guys a little leftist, but screwing up its right sides, just seems shortsighted ?

If I could have chosen which side to go out, you know it wouldn't have been the right.
